Got to play - Pick a Neighbour to Annoy - what fun. (I don't know any of them.)

4. It's better than locking your keys in your car at the gas station.
That can be quite embarrassing.

Blocked a pump for an hour while waiting for the service station guy to show up.

Not very fun.

6. Or worse yet...
Locking your keys in the car while the engine is running. It's like trying to difuse a ticking bomb. Can you get the car unlocked before the car runs out of gas? Let's find out... tick...tick...tick...

13. I was watching a friends plants and cat while she was out of town-
i went over at lunchtime on the first day of the two-week stint, and as i left, the moment the door closed and locked behind me, i realized that i had left the keys inside.

i never realized just how easy it is to kick a door open...on the first try, the door jamb splintered apart, and the door swung open. of course i had to come back after work to do some repairs.

16. I'd left my apartment unlocked
And my balcony door open (I considered the climbing option) but I was locked out of the building.

18. yeah..those steel door jambs don't splinter so easy.
but at least you knew that at the worst, sooner or later someone would be coming in or out of the building.

20. Yes, but the trick would be choosing a door
I was by the front, but I think most people use the back because our cars are back there.

15. I did that a couple years ago. What a nightmare
The only neighbor that was in was the Asian family across the road, who my roommate's dogs had "terrorized" previously. So when I went and knocked on the door to try ask for a phone to use, I ended up outside talking through a door in the middle of winter in my tshirt. When they briefly opened the curtain I could see the Grandfather with a folded up barstool in case I decided to try break in or something. I finally convinced them to call AAA, who I'm fully aware don't normally handle house lockouts, but it was the limit of my translation abilities through locked doors while shivering half to death. So they called, a half hour of sitting on my front steps trying to keep warm a fucking tow truck pulls up ready to open my car. Idiots. I waived off the tow truck, went around back and put my fist through the back door's window and let myself in. I've never seen 2 dogs and a cat run that fast before, and dogs were supposed to be the home protectors :eyes:

It turns out that my roommate hadn't removed the key from our emergency area like he said he would've after all. If I'd looked I'd have been in the house in seconds. Oh well. One replaced pane of glass and a lot of shivering later - lesson learned.

17. Was walking a girlfriend's dog while she was out of town.
When puppy and I came back from our walk I tried the lock and it fell apart in my hands (but the deadbolt was still in the door!). Had to find an open window and climb in and then open back door for doggie to get in. Left a note for girlfriend to call me when she got in to town so I could tell her which window to climb in. bet the neighbors loved that sight!
