CNBC to can Dennis Miller's show
By Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) -- CNBC is canceling comic Dennis Miller's low-rated political talk show after less than 16 months, replacing it with a business show rerun.

Miller's prime-time program, featuring a mixture of comedy, interviews and his conservative political opinion, was seen by an average of 168,000 viewers since its January 2004 launch, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That number has dipped to 114,000 this year with the presidential election campaign over.

His show, seen at 9 p.m. EDT, will be replaced by a rerun of "Mad Money with Jim Cramer," three hours after its original airing.

1. Don't know how it made it 16 months.
Replaced by a rerun. Brutal.

Agreed. Who decides what is aired? I would like that job.

30. I'll give Miller credit for one thing:
CNBC wanted to run his show through the summer (Olbermann mentioned this last night), and Miller himself said he'd rather get it over with fast. I'll give him credit for facing the firing squad bravely. But that's it.

5. Miller Time is Over
It couldn't have happened to a more deserving candidate. Dennis Miller is a flashing neon sign of intellectual dishonesty.

Maybe the job of "narrow-minded, self-centered punditoid" was not the best choice for someone whose entire previous career was based on cerebral comedy and erudite witticisms.

"That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it."

9. Who would miss him? Rancid personality. Replaced by reruns.
If he had any real intelligence, he would have tried to fix that pathetic show. We could only take it a couple of minutes. Period. Good grief. How could he not be so embarrassed?

11. CLUE: Using GOP talking points as a basis for comedy ain't funny.
Turns out being a Repug comedian isn't as lucrative as it was when you were a liberal and actually had thought provoking comedy.

You were funny until you started drinking the kool aid.

See ya Chachi, enjoy your free time.

17. Dennis seemed miserable. He wasn't having fun anymore.
The only time he seemed to enjoy himself was when he was a guest on The Daily Show and Jon Stewart used him as a performing monkey.

18. I saw him on the Daily Show
He said he wished he had Jon Stewart's audience, and then tried to steal it.

Said some funny things about how there was "no problems with climate change" and other GOP propaganda. He sounded like his material was written by Karl Rove and Jeff Gannon.

21. Another right wing hack show canceled.
Dennis Miller to me is one of the biggest hacks.
His bizarre turn to the right exposes that he never had an original opinion,
and relied on his writers for all his humor.
Its one thing to use September 11th as an excuse of supporting Bush, but its another thing to completely except a right wing ideology.
He was on the Daily show 2 weeks ago where his bit on how Global warming is a hoax. For some reason John Stewart was laughing his but off. (it really was not funny)
Dennis miller sounded like a Republican congressman making excuses

Dennis Miller bit him self in the ass on his first show stating that he wont make fun of GWB. Thats a great way of turning off a big chunk of your audience.
First Michael Savage and now Miller.

With Bush's poll numbers in the shitter, when will CNBC learn that no one wants to watch Right wing propaganda.
CNBC is just another corporate entity and has no real political belief, (its all about the money) so don't be surprised if you see a liberal if not more moderate TV show to take its place.
I bet the ratings will be much better

28. And the sad part is...he just might.
PBS is listing heavily to the right wing these days. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen. PBS still gets quite a bit of its funding from the federal government. They're terrified of jeopardizing that. So, now we're dealing with crap like "Tucker Carlson Unfiltered" and the excising of liberal programming.

31. I've had a theory about his silly-ass TV show for some time.....
I thought the only reason something as lame as that could have made it on the air was that NBC or GE had a deal with the FCC (and Colin Powell's kid) and putting this RW cheerleader on CNBC was payback for the concessions they were given. There could be no other explanation for something this dumb being on the air for so long with such horrible ratings. Even infomercials got better ratings.
