I've finished work for today.
It's only 11:25 :-)

Well more accurately I have finished the work which came in with today's post; there is a pile of on-going stuff which I will have to do for another 5 1/2 hours (less lunch break).

I'm going to make me a drink now.

I just came into work. I'm drinking a nice cup of green tea. :-)

Enjoy your drink.

4. As I'm still in the office
It's green tea here as well, very gorgeous but I'd like something more fun.

Enjoy your drink and have a wonderfully splendid day.

3. If I go home I don't get paid
If I sit around in the office posting to D.U. until 5p.m. I do. Some questionable logic there - but 'ours is not to reason why, ours it but to do and die'.

But just as longas you know that I'm not reallygoing to be working for the rest of the day. :P

12. Only sometimes
:D

I'm just whining because it's definitely a long haul from xmas/new year's to Memorial Day over here. And not that many places have Easter as a mandatory holiday.

9. We used to get Whitmonday off
(This coming Monday), but it was switched to the first Monday in May (to keep May Day) in the '70s.

I'm guessing 26th is Corpus Christi which the protestant laender won't be too keen on, but would be big in the southern Catholic places.

Are you going away for your vacation?

11. hey, you know your religious days
Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are having the 26th off. I live in Hessen (protestant) - no chance.

I will be going with my family to Poland. Part of my family comes from there (former German parts) and it is a present for my grandma's 80th birthday.

13. I'm a good little Catholic boy

Well okay, drop the 'good'. My memory takes a long time to absorb information, but once something gets in there nothing can get it out again, and there are plenty of dates that float around in there; also the intricate workings of the moveable kalendar appeal to my slightly odd mind-set.

15. The official title is Pentecost
As it is 50 days after Easter. I believe that Whitsun is a peculiarly English term.
