The BL has scanned and posted the two Caxton editions of The Canterbury Tales online for the viewing. Treasures indeed...

2. I thought the BL was way cool
when, in the same room, I could see lyrics to a Beatles song scrawled on a scrap of paper, diaries in Charlotte and Emily Bronte's handwriting, and the order signed by Elizabeth I ordering the execution of Mary Queen of Scots. It was overwhelming.

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, the Rosetta stone was just upstairs.

3. That is really beautiful.
700 years ago writers didn't have distractions like tv and the internet to keep them from creating great literature. Makes you wonder what could i be accomplishing if it weren't for this, that, and the other.
