Considering Obi-Wan's past experience with Wookies...
Haven't you ever wondered what he and Chewbacca were discussing in the Mos Isley Catina, just before they when to sit at the table?

Perhaps, Chewbacca was in on the original scheme to hide the twin babies and was a go to guy for the rescue at the Death Star WITHOUT HAN SOLO'S KNOWLEDGE?

Doesn't it all make sense.

(PS. I'm a Star Wars Geek from Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back)

1. Han Solo wasn't even born yet, or he was a child at the time.

Chewbacca was 200+ years old in the 4th movie.

This is the background of Chewbacca:

Once an Imperial Slave, then saved by and thus life debted to Han Solo, the Wookiee, Chewbacca, has been the devoted partner ever since. Sticking with Han, he became the first mate and co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon. Through their many harrowing adventures, the giant Wookiee has always acted as friend, companion, confidant, and conscience of his human compatriot. Fate, or some might say the Force, brought Han and Chewbacca into what seemed a lucrative deal with some crazy old guy named Ben Kenobi and his rash youthful companion, Luke Skywalker. It was a deal that would forever alter their lives. Once again, Han and Chewbacca fought and eluded Imperials, but this time for goals of friendship and loyalty. Money was the driving force at first, but gave way under Chewbacca's gentle but determined pressure for Han to make the -right- choice - to stand by his new found friends and to help the Rebels. This choice lead them into roles they had never held before - heroes. Titles never meant a thing to either Han or Chewie, and they continued to fight alongside the Rebellion's forces, reaching their final victory on the forest moon of Endor.

2. Then the Yuuzhan Vong dropped a moon on him at Sernpidal.
I'm still not OK with that.

That's one of the few expanded universe books I've read.
And I agree, it bugged me too. :(

Let's just say I'm not a big fan of the SW novels.

3. You missed my point
My point is that perhaps Chewy and Obi were keeping secrets away from Han.

Maybe that's what they were talking about before they sat down.

5. Ooooh...
Prehaps.
But i thought Chewie was only telling Obi that they had a ship, then Chewie told Han.

6. Where DID Obi-Wan learn Shyriiwook?
See, I'm a bigger geek than you are. :D

8. Good question.

And how did he know so much about Wookie behavior?

Edit: About your level of geekiness, I'll concede your point

9. LOL! Actually, Obi-Wan might have learned from Chalmun,
the Wookiee who owned the cantina at Mos Eisley. Obi-Wan had obviously been there before. He told Luke, "Watch your step. This place can be a little rough." Although Chalmun is not seen in Episode IV, he has a firm place in Star Wars lore.

4. Remember, Han Solo lost his commission in the Imperial Navy
because he saved Chewbacca. There was good in Han from the beginning, but the Wook helped bring it out.

7. Yeah, but maybe Chewy knew something that Han didn't know
About Luke?

a very young boy. I rather doubt we'll see Han, but it would be interesting.

Han Solo is my favorite Star Wars character. As a newly hormonal girl, I fell in love with Harrison Ford's portrayal of the brash smuggler. That lopsided grin...swoon...

11. I had a theory...
...that Han was actually going to be born as the third Skywalker baby (making Luke, Han, and Leia triplets), and Obi-Wan was going to give the child to a wookie named Chewbacca Solo at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

Thankfully, it looks like I might be wrong about that.

12. I've always wondered about their little 'discussion' too...
... but Chewie's barely in Episode III.

I can say a lot more if requested, but I'm afraid of upsetting the anti-spoiler squad.

13. When it comes to Star Wars, for me, spoilers aren't sancrosant
But this isn't my message forum and I have to be considerate of others

Anyways, thanks for clarifying
