Worse, the brainiacs who witnessed the accident turned in my license plate number but didn't get the bad guy's license plate. WTF?

The bumper is all mangled, and I found out I have a $300.00 deductable. I think I will go find that duct tape Tom Ridge made me buy and just tape it all back together.

I guess someone just hates me for my freedom! Terrorists!

1. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
I've been hit twice by uninsured drivers.

I empathize.

2. I hope they at least identified themselves to you
and tried to look guilty. Sheesh.

It's the least they could do...

7. That is so unfair
I think I will just live with the damage rather than have that happen!

6. Yup, that's how security tracked me down
I guess I'm lucky they didn't arrest me for hitting my own car!

16. Honestly, I'm suprised you weren't issued a ticket
for hit and run.

"a car with your license plate was reported as having hit this vehicle and then leaving the scene"

9. Workplace?
Any chance it was caught on a video/security camera?

Another employee?

Wait and watch.. keep an eye out for another car in the lot with
"matching" damage.

12. A college parking lot
I found out what kind of car hit me. I think security is searching for it. But it's a big parking lot.

10. Well, DUers ...
Time #1 - a bunch of guys - who probably were not here legally, since they were sharing one license between them - and who took off before I could call for help - smashed into my car.

Time #2 - was really funny. A dry drunk hit me - totaled the car. Hubby was in Texas, I was in SoCal. There was no one to drive me home, and I had no phone. The cops said they couldn't drive me home because I shut down the freeway. Guy who hit me was yelling, 'She had her lights on, and they blinded me!' Cop calmly said, 'Well, Sir, it was nighttime, so of course she had her lights on.' Dry-drunk denied being drunk, and that was good enough for the cop apparently. Despite Dry-drunk stating that he had been drinking earlier to me, Cop stated that he was not going to test him because Cop could smell no alcohol on Suspect's breath. I got out of my car stating that I was going to kill Suspect (all 5'2" of me), and Paramedic just stated that I should be thanking God I was still alive - let alone walking away without a scratch (which I did).

Both times MY insurance paid, and, apparently, was not able to get a plug nickel out of either car owner, despite license plates.

Thanks for letting me rant! End-of-rant.

13. A hit and run driver totalled our car that was parked on the street.
My wife had a 1993 Saturn that ran great. I was going to drive it when my lease was up -- no car payments!! Anyhow, some dickhead smashed into the left rear side of the car, and took off. The cost to repair it was $3,000. The blue book on the car was about $1,600. My wife and I were very sad to see that car go.

15. For obvious reason-his car drove away. Your car stayed,
so it was easy to get the number.
