3. You shouldn't STOP eating - really not healthy
Just make better choices. Strawberries are yummy and full of
vitamin C. It's also way easier to eat better in the summer.

Keep your eyes on your goal.

4. I have tickets to go to a concert...
The Faint and Bright Eyes...well actually my friends have the tickets. And they're in Kansas City. And there's a supercell/tornadic thunderstorm between KC and here, so they're not coming. So I can't go. This sucks.

10. My flight instructor drilled into my head the following:
There's NO place you have to be bad enough, that it's worth dying getting there. There are many worse things than missing a concert.

Is the concert in your town? Could they phone the box office and explain the situation? They might be able to give you a replacement ticket.

Unfortunately, the concert is a little over an hour away from me, and well, going alone...hella uncool. :dunce:

I know it was the right decision, but I'm still bummed about it. I sooo wanted to hear Bright Eyes do "When the President Talks to God."

Get off DU, put some quality time into your paper. Dance with abandon and have fun. If your date is a horror, you can think about your paper. If your night is great, then you'll be more inclined to buckle down tomorrow.

56. Okay... I'm frustrated...
I've started writing the next chapter in my novel five times today.
I hate it.
It sucks.
It sucks worse than spring mud in Vermont.

I'm writing a romantic comedy and ... let's discuss.... currently it's not romantic and it's not a comedy...

I mean...the more I write, the less funny it gets.

Sooooo.... time to shift outta this gear.
(and you're probably wondering why I'm driving in the house, or typing in the car...but that's another story) (I'm not) (it's one of them there metaphors)

58. I was wondering
I thought it might be a Vermont thing.

Your post proves to me that the funny is still in you, you just need to get it on the page.

Is it the telling of the story that is giving you the problems, or is it the story itself. Maybe you should step away for a bit. Or, maybe you should stop editing and just write. You can always go back and polish - get the bones on the page.

70. I found a dead cat under my front porch.
I think that it had been there for a few days. It smelled bad.

87. RIP to our little kitten...
Our littlest kitten was just taken to the vet. He was already the wobbliest and smallest of the trio that came from our smallest full-grown cat, Sam-or Silky-kit. He had been gasping for air all day, had diarrhea, and his right eye was always closed up-and infected.

My sister was asking to take him to the vet. When we got there, the Veterinarian said that he had only 30 more minutes without treatment, but it wouldn't have helped because he wasn't fully developed. Nothing left to do, except for euthanizing him.

We bought some kitten food-which has extra calcium-for Sam during nursing(because the milk that the mother cat produces takes the calcium from her bones), and for the kittens when they're old enough to eat solids. There should be enough left to last awhile next time...

RIP little guy:cry:

95. Hi, yvr girl,
I don't actually need cheering up; I just felt like saying HI! I just stepped out on my balcony and had a quick last look at the waxing moon. It's a beautiful crescent...I'm a genuine lunatic! Nice chatting with all of you earlier! I do think I prefer one on one, though...Gets confusing!

I had a friend over for dinner, so I wasn't online.

I love looking at the moon to. Sometimes it seems so close you could touch it.

109. Yikes, that sucks.
Someone mentioned earlier on the board how her daughter's friend died today. He was 16. Hi mom went to wake him up this morning and he was dead.

It sounds like things are rough for you, and I'm not minimizing them, but they could be worse.

You'll get another job. You'll find your keys. You'll wake up tomorrow.

I need to get the Clapper for my frigging keys

And once I find them, then I have to remember where the hell I parked.

If it's not one thing, it's another.

112. OK
No man has ever been in love with me before. I'm 36 now and still trying to accept that it's probably never gonna happen. But I can't seem to, so I get my hopes up sometimes. Last time they were dashed I tried to off myself, then went on a whirlwind tour of all the mental health/drug rehab places in the county for a several months (I made the mistake of admitting smoking pot so I wasn't allowed to talk about anything else but the 12 steps for 3 months).

Meanwhile, I still have no job and no place to live that doesn't have people yelling at me all the time.
