What was the origin of "...ask me anything"?
Edited on Fri Oct-24-03 08:30 PM by DisgustipatedinCA
Can someone please clue me in on the origins of all the threads in the format:

I just did/saw/said suchandsuch, ask me anything

I feel culturally deficient, not knowing this.

Thanks.

2. I'm afraid that I'm now even more lost than before
Pardon, but what do you mean? What does that have to do with my question? Sorry for being so thick.

4. A single DUer would have an hour break for lunch at work.
She'd start "I'm on break until 1:15, ask me anything" threads, and people would.

Later it evolved into a way of people telling the world something they think is interesting, in the most dragged out form possible.

6. OK, thanks
I thought it might've had its origins in some television show or self-help manual or somesuch.

For what it's worth, I enjoy reading the "ask me anything" threads, just didn't understand how they got started.

Thanks for helping me to become informed.

Started out as a cool idea, but it's a wee bit overused now.
