Anybody have a Nintendo Gamecube?
My wife wants one of these because of the "cute" games. I have a Sony Playstation and wondered how the two compare and also if it is worth it to buy a Gamecube too?

1. Ok, I posted wrong in the XBOX thread...
actually, what I bought my son last night WAS a gamecube. He loves it.

I think the graphics are better, it functions without the glitchy spasms of playstation2, much more smoothly, and if you get it at wallyworld now, it comes with the Gameboy Advance add-on so that you can play gameboy games on the telly using the regular gamecube controller.

We also bought the wireless gamepad. I think it is a must have! No cords to trip over, and you can play from the comfort of the recliner.

Additionally, the Gamecube package came with the Zelda game and a "Directors Cut" disk with short-play games. All for 149.99.

Better get there fast, though, because the salesclerk told me that once they sell out of the present stock, they won't be offering the gameboy add-on/extra games package with the Gamecube any more.

I give it two thumbs up.

6. We have it all except for the Xbox or the Dreamcast
we have the PS2, the PS1, the Gameboy Color, the Gameboy advance, the Nintendo64, and now the Nintendo Gamecube. I can see the PS2 falling into disuse, now.

I don't see why you would consider anything else since you already have the GBadvance. The GB add-on is phenomenal...you won't believe that the graphics on your TV are the same as on that miniature screen.

With the special price right now, and as much as you like the Gameboy, and if you can afford it, I would get thee to the nearest wallyworld soon, before they sell out. The price for the package and the quality is unbeatable.

10. LOL! No...but should I? :-)
I am actually quite a luddite, even though my son has an affinity for technology.

I don't think you will be disappointed--you should be up and running within 5 minutes of getting back from the store.

Have fun! :-)

2. I have a gamecube!
& My brother has a PS2, but I do believe he plays my gamecube more than his PS2. :-D

Depends on how badly your wife wants to play video games. . . and whether or not you have any desire to play Grade-A titles such as Metroid Prime, Zelda, Monkey Ball, Rogue Squadron, etc. The biggest fault of the Gamecube is it's lack of third party titles, but you'll have 90% of the third party titles covered with the PS2. I don't know how many cute games PS2 has, or how good the ones they have are. . . but they're not going to beat Zelda, Animal Crossing, Mario, Pikmin, Wario World, Mario Golf, etc (to infinity?).

So if your wife wants to play them bad enough, it is a great system to have, every first party title is a classic, and most of the third party exclusives (Rogue Leader, Ikaruga, Skies of Arcadia (dreamcast ports on those last two) are pretty great too. . .

3. Sega is available on Gamecube
we bought sonic the hedgehog last night. It has all previous editions of sonic games. Picked it up for about 30 bucks and have been playing it and Zelda nonstop ever since.

4. I have the Gamecube.
A black one.

3 games so far, all 3 I really enjoy.

Starfox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet (You have to see the graphics on it to believe it)

Spyro the Dragon: Enter the Dragonfly (Just plain dumb fun)

Animal Crossing (A kid's version of "The Sims," and very addicting!

9. i've got a 'cube.
it doesn't have as many games as PS2, but it has far more quality games. i also work as a video store clerk, i get about 3 or 4 complaints a week about ps2 games that don't work, however, in the 11 months i've been working there, i have only received one complaint about a gamecube game not working, and i think the only reason that customer complained is to get a different game.

i own 23 games for it, ranging from Resident Evil to Luigi's Mansion. It has the best of the horror games with the best of the cute games. The Wavebird wireless gamepad is a must own, infact, I have 4 of them.

I also recommend the following equipment for your gamecube.

+ reclining chair
+ Skies of Arcadia game
+ Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem game
+ memory card 251 (x2)
+ Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance game
+ gameboy advance player
+ Wario Ware Inc., gameboy advance game

there are tons of "must own" games for it. If you love multiplayer action, i strongly recommend the following titles:

+ Timesplitters 2
+ Mario Party 4
+ Turok: Evolution
+ Super Smash Brothers: Melee.

if you have any other questions about the cube, send me a private message, or wait for me to reply to this one.

12. Gamecube
+) It has great graphics and smooth game play. Games like "Resident Evil" look and play wonderfully.
-) Good luck finding many games for it. Nintendo is notoriously stingy on licensing agreements, so most titles for PS2 are not availible.

13. yes, but...
most titles for ps2 aren't very good. they produce more bile per-capita than both xbox and cube combined.

14. GameCube rocks!
I own a GameCube and love it.

Mario, Zelda, the works are beautiful and fun on that little machine.

A memory card 251 I think costs $20 while the VERY small memory cards range from $10-15.

The GameCube and Gameboy player are very quality game systems and you won't regret the purchase.

15. I was anti-Nintendo after the N64
but I have to admit the Cube is an excellent machine, and Metroid Prime is hands down one of the best games I've played this year.

I got my PS2 for free (yay!),but if I had to buy one I'd get the Cube.Between the lower price, the quality of games (Zelda anyone?),and the Gameboy Advance add-on (Now we can play Golden Sun on the tv-so long social life!) the Cube is an excellent choice.
