7. It would be so cool
cuz I'd make a bunch of stuff up! :bounce:

It'd sell a couple of hundred thousand copies before anyone caught on and I'd already be rich. Then I'd go on Oprah and cry and say I just wanted people to think I was more interesting than I really was. I'd get a small part in a major motion picture b/c Hollywood felt sorry for me. Then I'd get a coke habit and bottom out. Then I'd write my follow-up auto-bio and tell the truth. It would not sell.

17. No pay needed.
I'd just write some sort of a expose biography on you and get
it published by some 'loid or another. Causing your downfall.
Then feel really guilty about it. Rinse. Repeat.

Okay?

25. Hey, I'll have you drive me to a seedy tattoo parlor
and you can watch me get a tattoo in a REALLY private place (I'll be stoned so you'll take pix). Then you can say we had a torrid affair and sell the pix to a rag-mag for LotsO$$$ and I won't be able to deny it cuz I'll have the tattoo :bounce:

I'll only cry and say I thought I could trust you because we were so close.

45. Naw, it's been done...
Instead, why not arrange for a paparazzi to catch some pix of
you lip syncing in a thong while experiencing a wardrobe malfunction.

I'll take the video and cut-paste in some soldiers, young
school children, and flags. Blare it out over ET or some other
pulp infotainment source.

Then you can announce your engagement to somebody, but, disappear
when alter time is nigh.

Show up a few days later... Hair all suggestively mussed. Saying
something about an alien abduction.

Now *there* is something I could sell.

You need a hit song first though.

(BTW... The torrid affair never happened... K?) ;)

27. There was a poet who agreed with you...I do, too.
From the Greek poet Nikos Kazantzakis: "When a man dies, that particular vision of life that was his and his alone dies with him. It therefore behooves every man to tell his story."

30. Wise words
I guess I deleted my message when I posted... I originally said that if I had even sketchy details about my family's life a two or three generations ago, that would be better than what I have now, which is niente. Also great for having the "last word," or explaining some family incident to future generations when all they have is someone else's version of the story...

13. If I did, it would probably take the form of humorous memoirs.
Everything based on my real life, but exaggerated and twisted to humorous effect. Possible titles: "Goop Boy and the Magic Turtle"; "Walking Through Watts and Other Stupidities"; and "Never Mind Me; I Was Just Talking".

16. I don't think so.
I haven't written my autobiography yet, so I'm pretty sure it hasn't been written yet.

Why? Did I inadvertently steal someone else's title?

19. maybe not sure
If I could be completely, 100 percent sure I was not going back into my former occupation, I might if the price was right. Promoting my story would ruin my anonymity and in my career anonymity or alternate identities are everything. I might just go back to the old work, since you make a lot more money "doing" than writing about doing. And not just a little more. A lot more. Autobiography is only a big money-maker if you're Bill Clinton or another celebrity. Or if you have some terrible tragic tale, boo hoo hoo, well, if I had some terrible tragic tale, I sure wouldn't want it in front of the public. Who wants to make a profession out of being pathetic?

Another problem is that some of the events in my life are so truly weird and unusual that they don't really make a good narrative because truth is stranger than fiction...hence it doesn't read as believably as fiction.

Maybe I'll just stick with my journal.
