Yes, it's deplorable that I don't know Spanish. Help?
Pathetic disclaimer: I know English, pretty fair in French, passable in ASL, and spotty in Portugese. My Spanish is a joke. All I understand is what I can glean from Latinate roots (only helpful in written Spanish.)

My question: I'm working on a (transcription) project with occasional Spanish vernacular. There is one word I haven't been able to place, and I'm not sure that it is a "nice" word, so I don't want to ask around. To my ears, it sounds like "foo-chee" and the context suggests a negative adjectival term (eg-not good, fucked up, screwy, etc.)

Help? Please?

Thanks!
