Did anyone know that this song actually had words?
We chased lady luck till we finally struck - Bonanza
With a gun and a rope and a hatful of hope
We planted our family tree
We got ahold of a potful of gold - Bonanza
With a horse and a saddle and a rig full of cattle
How rich can a fella be?

On this land we put our brand
Cartwright is the name
Fortune smiled the day we filed
The Ponderosa claim

Here in the west we're livin' in the best - Bonanza
If anyone fights any one of us
He's gonna fight with me

Hoss and Joe and Adam know
Every rock and pine
No one works, fights, or eats
Like those boys of mine

Here we stand in the middle of a grand - Bonanza
With a gun and a rope and a hatful of hope
We planted our family tree
We got ahold of a potful of gold - Bonanza
With a houseful of friends where the rainbow ends
How rich can a fella be?

On this land we put our brand
Cartwright is the name
Fortune smiled the day we filed
The Ponderosa claim

Here in the west we're livin' in the best - Bonanza
With the friendliest, fightenist, lovingest band
That ever set foot in the promised land
And we're happier than them all
That's why we call it - Bonanza -
- Bonanza -
- Bonanza -

1. My parents used to have an LP of Lorne Greene singing that song
That and a bunch of other Western-themed music.

How the HELL I remember that I'll never know. I would have been no older than 6 the last time I listened to it.

3. Almost all TV show themes had words
And the producers usually wrote them. That way they got half royalties from the songs.

Roddenbery got a check for the Star Trek theme song by using the same trick.

5. And here are the lyrics to
the Star Trek Original Series Theme:

Beyond
The rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me.

6. There's WORDS to the Star Trek song?
Edited on Tue May-10-05 03:32 PM by fob
Are you talking about the spoken word stuff by Shatner at the beginning?

Space. The Final Frontier. <---those words?

edit: Note to self, wait a sec and a DUer will give the answer.

8. There were indeed lyrics to the original ST TV show
Star Trek Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "Star Trek"
By: "Alexander Courage"

Beyond the rim of the starlight,
My love is wandring in star flight.
I know he'll find
In star clustered reaches
Love, strange love
A starwoman teaches.

I know his journey ends never.
His Star Trek will go on forever.
But tell him while
He wanders his starry sea,
Remember,
Remember me.
