17. My friend actually got the word "tattoo" tattooed on his upper arm
Edited on Tue May-10-05 01:01 PM by Tyrone Slothrop
A very meta-tattoo.

And a real tattoo-tattoo.

6. Oh yes defintiely what a unique and inventive idea
You will probably be the first one on your block to get one. Everyone else will think it is so cool they will get one themselves and you will be a trend setter!!!

Sorry for the sarcasm this isn't directed at you I just find fads like this amusing. Do whatever you want. If it makes you happy go for it.

8. iiiiits perminant...
I'm just saying. I waited 35 years to get my first tattoo and finally got one about four months ago on my forearm.

It's a picture of a boognish that looks like this:

I'd always wanted a tattoo and it took forever for me to pick a design out. One on the lower back (aka the ubiquitous butt butterfly, etc.) should be easy to hide or show off either way.

10. no
You can't even see it yourself, so you will never enjoy it and inevitably will come the day when you have to pay $4K to have it removed by laser.

Tattoos are limiting and put you in a box. Why do that to yourself? Life is change, growth, adventure, not smacking a label on yourself that says, "Why the heck didn't anyone tell me the 90s are over?"

I'm telling you now. The 90s are over. I've never been sorry that my tattoos were temporaries.

and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

12. Think about keeping yourself in shape
You don't want to be that old person on the beach with your tatoo all streched out becasue the natural course of time has added weight. Other than that, put it where ever you want.

That looks good after 10-15 years. They all seem to turn into misshapen blobs of various shades of green. Do something more constructive with your money.

24. That's why you have to be careful of who does it
You need to be really careful of who does your tattoo because many places it is so unregulated that anyone can do it. My tattoos are not misshapen blobs of color and are over 10 yrs old. Make sure you can hide them though, because there are people who will pre-judge you because of them.

Tattoos aren't for me, but if you really want one, then go for it. If it's something that makes you feel good, and proud then what are you waiting for?

33. Up to you, of course, but my hair stylist
calls them "Tramp Stamps". She has one, that she now goes to weeks and weeks of painful removal sessions for.

Personally I think they're kind of "me too", since so many of the young ladies I work with have them.

Me, I have my 60s era rose on my hip, that was enough for me.
