6. Athletes were better in the '60s than at the turn of the century.
With modern conditioning, Jack Johnson could've kicked Ali's ass (maybe). Of course, Ali at his prime would have been beaten stupid by Holyfield, FFS, because Holyfield was in better shape.

All things being equal, Ali was probably the greatest, as well as The Greatest. That said, I voted for Johnson, because Ali's gonna get the lion's share of the support here.

10. Ali lost his prime fighting years, but in the end that battle was
his greatest victory!

11. And Jack Johnson lost prime fighting years as well
Because a lot of white fighters refused/were scared to fight him...

Went to Jack's restaurant where the champ would talk to all the patrons. He signed a menu for me. Its in a frame on my wall.

9. Despite having his prime fighting years taken away for his opposition
to the war in Vietnam, Ali's the greatest.

I would love to have seen him kick Tyson's ass in an alternate world.

16. In boxing, speed kills...
and Ali was the fastest. He also had a great chin, which ultimately proved his undoing.
