Damn you Bob Seger GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

My weekend - Bob Seger vs. Aleve

So this was to be the first full weekend working on our new rental house. I set up the stereo and tuned up in the "Classic Rock" station (I can remember when some of these "classics" were new). Well I had to have heard Bob Seger's "Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser" for "Live Bullet" oh about 15 freakin' times :grr: Nothing against him personally but damn WE GET IT OKAY???

Yesterday was the worst-as I was putting yet another coat (or two) of primer on the bedrooms (2) and painting the downstairs rec room (thank GOD for Benjamin Moore paint) and painting and rehanging a closet door and priming our kitchen table the "Classic Rock" station seemed to be playing a loop. There was no DJ and along with Seger's songs I heard "Cocaine" three times in three hours and I swear "I know a little" by Skynyrd twice in 25 minutes. I've still got "Beautiful Loser" in my head AND IT WON'T GET OUT!!!!

Saturday wasn't so bad except for the piece of crap mower that I did everything I knew how to do literally shook itself loose from the mounting to the deck (the body of the mower) and into 12 pieces across the lawn. I tried to fix it once (me fixing something :eyes: ) and the second time I was about to take it completely apart when I looked underneath and found the mount broken. A nice neighbor lent me her almost brand new mower-I finished the ~1/3 acre knee high grass job in 4 hours (this is where the Aleve comes in) and I am feeling it today. I haven't had a regular lawn to cut for 10 years.

I did meet three of my neighbors and found out some great stuff about the neighborhood.

The swimming pool costs $120 a summer per FAMILY and there is another pool within walking distance-that one is Olympic sized and has a swim team and tennis courts (not sure of the cost).

There is a State Trooper AND a high ranking Fire Dept. officer in the immediate area (funny how now I like having a cop around).

There is a "great" elementary school within walking distance too (should we decide to stay).

All the neighbors I met were really nice. Wow what a weekend.
