Oh...oh! Wanna see my surgery incision? :)
Some of my makeup got lost somewhere in the hospital shuffle, so what you see is what you get. Sorry about that. :eyes:

The incision is in one of my neck folds. The surgeon said that when it heals, the scar will be less noticeable there. Still, it's strange that the incision is directly over my larynx, which must have been moved aside when they got to it. I can talk and I'm nearly 100% sure my singing voice is still intact, so that's good.

3. You look great!
I love your haircut. How long have you had it like that? I remember other pictures of you with longer hair.

You look VERY healthy in your photos. :D

6. Thanks. I had my hair cut short, first, then a couple of months later
Edited on Mon May-09-05 12:48 AM by Ladyhawk
I had it dyed back to something approaching my natural color. I hope. It's been this style for about a month or so. Before that, it was very short and very blond.

Like this:

I like it shorter, too and now that I'm used to having a more natural color, I like that, too. It makes me feel more down-to-earth. Or something. :)

And of course, I had to make a whole new South Park character for the hair-change occasion (seen below). :D

4. Oh, you are looking good, Ladyhawk! Nice to see you smiling!
The scar will fade, and since it's in the shadow area under your chin, most people won't even see it...

I am so very glad you're doing so well. That time around your surgery was so very tense, and I'm glad it's over...Not to mention how glad you must be!

:pals:

8. You betcha, CaliforniaPeggy!
I need to start exercising, though, so I don't lose what stamina is left. As you know, the weather has been a bit manic depressive. It can't decide whether it's winter or summer here, especially up the mountain a ways where it still threatens to snow.

I have to wear a cervical collar for 3 months. I took it off for the picture. That's probably why the smile was convincing. Heh heh

9. I have a cool neck scar too!
Back in 2001, I had to have a lymph node removed because it was swollen, getting bigger, and they didn't know what the hell was going on.

The scar is about an inch long, not as cool as yours, but still!

11. My mom has a matched pair of scars like that
Edited on Mon May-09-05 01:02 AM by LeftyMom
I believe I mentioned on one of your pre-surgery threads she had a very similar procedure, then had it repeated when her first bone graft slipped out. It should fade, my mother's is only noticable becuase it doesn't tan so it's like a feint white line drawn across her neck.

Here's hoping we get some better weather soon! Not too hot or humid though, you'd be miserable in that cervical collar if it got hot, let's hope for low eighties, slight breeze, white puffy clouds find of stuff. :)

12. Yeah, I get to wear it until the beginning of August, looks like.
I've been thinking about the heat aspect. I already get hot very easily. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I have a feeling I shall retreat to the high country as much as possible. I'm not supposed to drive, either, but I don't think I'm going to make it that long. I may have to camp up in the high country. :)
