am i the only college student not stressing about finals?
i don't understand this...i am finding college to be easier (as in, less work) than high school ever was

maybe i just picked the right classes? maybe i'm just a bad student? maybe i'm a super genius?

i can't be alone can i?

7. haha no way
i'm supposed to be a history major...but i'm not taking any history classes this semester...meh

i've got 2 philosophy classes, a biology class and companion lab, a black history class, and a study of american popular music from 1900 to present day (which sounds fun...but it's not )

13. The only one I'm really stressing is my philosophy final
I haven't done well at all in that class all semester, except to keep my head above water, so I'm really feeling the pressure now. The rest, relatively speaking, are the proverbial pieces of cake.

Another history major - w00t!

19. what's the focus of your philosophy class?
is it a broad scope sort of deal or are you doing intense study on a few philosophers and/or their philosophical quandaries?

21. It's supposed to be an intro class.
But we concentrate on a few select philosophers -- Hume, Kant, Sartre, Descartes, to name a few. Maybe I just don't get philosophy, cause I seem to be the only one having trouble, or maybe it's supposed to be a broader based course. I just hope I'll get a good enough grade to pass.

40. Philosophy is an odd one
I love it, and can swim around in philosophical thoughts for many many hours on end - others, including those who are shockingly intelligent, cannot abide it at all.

Good luck with it.

2. I'm only stressin' genetics
Other than that, maybe it's because I'm not sober now, I have enough stress to worry about relating to whether or not I'll be able to even come back to school in the fall due to financial reasons.
So who knows.

I'm studying for that right now too. Last blasted exam I'll have to take before med school will *finally* start. And where I'll have the pleasure of taking genetics again!

Sounds...sexy.
I could never be pre-med; too much goddamned physical and organic chem to my liking...
I'll just stick to playing with my E.coli, thankyouverymuch.
Though they do smell of puke...

35. Yeah, orgo was just about the worst thing ever
I literally had no idea that anything could be so boring.

I'm looking for a new job for the next year (while I wait to hear back from schools) in a genetics lab (god help me) so maybe I'll have the pleasure of enjoying some E.Coli puke-smell too. ;-)

11. My physical anthro...which was heavily based on genetics...
was the one class that caused me major grief. I, too, stressed about that, and it's not nearly as involved as the genetics class that you've described before on DU.

4. I was a perfectionist as an undergrad.
I didn't stress about passing...I stressed about having a perfect grade.

Of course, when I got in grad school, the work load tripled, so I then stressed just about passing.

LOL!

I'm not stressing because I already turned in my final project. Part-time grad student.

We have class again this week, but we're turning in a short paper and then going to a restaurant together to eat!

Edited on Sun May-08-05 10:58 PM by SmileyBoy
I'm currently taking a 2 credit class that is worthy of being at least a 4 credit class. So much work done and so much money spent and so much criticism from the instructor.

17. I'm stressing...
Trying to get my GPA up for grad school. So I want to have straight As for this semester and this fall which is my last semester.

When I was younger and stupid I failed a few classes and it has sure put a drag on my GPA. Just hoping the grad schools I apply to will look at the improvement during my last two years of undergrad.

Good luck w/ your finals!

Only because I have two exams this time.. with them spreaded out well (One on Monday and one on Friday). My stressful stuff (The Two English Portfolios I had to turn in) Are done with, so I'm actually quite relaxed for the final two exams.

Good luck.
I got one out of the way-Ornithology, 33 slides of identifying birds by their common names. I made an A on that one.
Spanish-take home, open book. Another A.
My American Governement is another story. Identify 20 people or terms and 3 of 7 essays from the hardest professor in the entire school.
I always almost fill 2 blue books for him and walk out with a nasty case of writers cramp.

25. I'm not stressin...
but then again I've been done since Tuesday. I only had one final that I had to take in class (a Nutrition final that I finished in 20 minutes) the rest were all take-homes (one was a 27 page whopper). I never stress during finals, honestly if it were economically possible I'd be a professional student, I'm good at it!

and blah you go to harvard. i go to uw-milwaukee.

my school is widely known as a commuter school. yours is a world class institution.

(and you could seduce the whole damn faculty if you wanted to, so suck it right back at ya :))

and if it makes you feel any better i have to move next weekend; don't know where i'm going to find the time to pack, i work almost every night this week x(

39. I never stressed
I just took the opportunity of revision week to have long lunches, and read novels. Then I'd play the good old game of pick an obscured word that you have to use during the exam (my best was heresiarchical), and doze off for 3 hours in the exam room.

I didn't really work at school either - in fact I never really applied myself after G.C.S.E. level (they're the exams we English take at 16).

That said, in your case I do agree with those who put it down to charm and good looks.

I chose a major that I enjoy so when I'm doing the work for my classes, even finals, I am having fun and it doesn't seem like work. I am at the point (finally!!!) where I am done with gen eds and am only taking classes within my major. So, I'm having an easier time now as a senior then I did as a freshman.
