Poll question: I love noise pollution. I love hearing two stroke engines all afternoon,
I love knowing that your leaves are being mulched, I love hearing that your dog is being fed regularly, I love knowing that you're making progress on your race car.

I love noise pollution.

Do you?

10. My favorite has to be the asshole with the Trans Am
It's parked right next to my bedroom window and when he starts it up my walls shake.

I really ought to key that thing. I should pencil that into my datebook...

11. Are 4-stroke engines OK?
Because I have one of these in my plane.

I'll try not to fly by your house even though it makes what I consider to be a beautiful sound.

15. Agh!
I was just thinking about how I really need to get out of the city for a while because the cars are driving me NUTS! I live near a busy intersection and the motorcycles, noisy cars, big trucks and everything else are so loud.

And then there's the occasional helicopter, gunshot and house party.

17. "Speak up, I can't HEAR you!" ("Hell is other people.")
We went out on our deck today and were just sitting enjoying ourselves with the Cubs on and a nice lunch under the umbrella when our only neighbor (next door) decided to come out and sit on her chaise lounge and chat on her cell phone. Well, that set the dog off and he started with the loud "barky bark" so we had to take all our stuff, food, umbrella, radio and pooch and go back inside - and shut the doors so he wouldn't hear her anymore and would stop barking!! Oh, little dogs - what a trial they can be. And it was the first nice day here, too. Grrrrrr....

24. Am I the only one who misses cars backfiring?
Ah, the good old days. I had a friend with a Grand Torino with a hurst(?) shifter. When he wound first way out, then jammed third, his car backfired, and shot a flame out the tailpipe. I've been hard to impress ever since.

25. I got back at my asshat neighbors last night.
They leave their two dogs out all the time, in all kinds of weather, and they bark, all the friggin time, all night long.

Last night, the teenager had some friends over and they were jumping on the trampoline until 11:00, accompanied by what passes for music these days.

Haven't heard those dogs all day.

28. I love Harley-Davidsons in National Parks
When I get out to commune with nature, I feel assured that nature will not destroy me when I hear motorcycles on the road that is more than five miles away. I wouldn't be able to go out into the wilderness without that reassurance, I'd be too scared.
