1. A entertainer whose time has come but just doesn't know it yet
because there are enough people out there stuck in a Junior High mindset who still appreciate his humor.

17. Junior High? More like grade-school summer camp bathroom humor.

2. With friends like Stern . . .
Who needs enemies? A professional vulgarian, misogynist, provocateur.

Sucks from the same trough of slime as Savage, Hannity, and Limbaugh -- just from the left side rather than the right.

However, he's got a right. It's called freedom of expression, and it's why I'd defend his right to be as outrageous as his accountants and managers tell him to be.

But I don't have to like him.

4. I like Howard - he's still the funniest thing on radio
and I'm a woman. No-one else can have me laughing out loud to my radio in the morning like he can, and Artie rocks.

6. I love Howard Stern...
...and I'm a woman too. He is about the only thing worth listening to on the radio. He makes me laugh and forget about all the serious problems in this world for a few hours in the morning.

14. He and Beth-o are great champions of animals, neutering, adopting, etc,
I would love to go out to dinner with them, they really seem like nice, fun people.

5. Really Funny !!! Makes Me Laugh And Forget About All The Really.......
Edited on Sat May-07-05 11:38 AM by Double T
....Bad And Evil Things That Are REALLY going on in the world today. It's humor folks, lighten up and don't be so anal. Also. I like his politics; one of the few that will say what he really thinks about Bush, while at the same time coming under attack by the government through the FCC and Congress. Artie Lange is Great!!!!

8. I love Artie, too. They can be as funny as anything I've ever heard but
Edited on Sat May-07-05 12:23 PM by Southsideirish
there is a dark side to the show, for example, when Artie said he'd like time off to do that movie and Howard and Robin jumped all over him. The next day he was sick to his stomach. I hate that tyrannical aspect that many of these veteran entertainers have over their "people" but I guess its everywhere and just more visible there. I think Artie may have colitis, I hope he goes to the Dr.
The "Newly Weird Game" had me almost falling out of bed laughing (and that was after a nasty night of insomnia.) I wish I could get a tape of that segment. It was, hands down, one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.

10. I love when they get serious.
I remember the one day they were telling Artie he had an alcohol problem and he was in denial....that was compelling, for me...I think I was a few minutes late to work that day!

9. He is smart and knows how to make a buck.
Edited on Sat May-07-05 12:25 PM by tjdee
I think he's terribly bright--I'd date him, even.

I enjoyed his show a lot. Robin, not such a fan of, but she grew on me, kinda.

He is FAR better than anything on the radio, and makes the "morning guys" of your choice look boring and untalented.

15. I wasn't listening back then but maybe it was a New York 911 thing and he
got snookered by the Big Snook as so many people were. He was against "it" in the last election.

18. that's true but
imagine had howard stern yelled 'lies' when that goof war was being sold...one man, he could have derailed bush's scheme, but he did not.....
howard, like jerry springer, pandered to the lowbrow bully element, their excesses, but Springer cautioned them not to take serious what was being staged for tv...howard never bothered and thus was behind the curve when the rush to war was STAGED by bush...the collateral damage may well be the very liberty that made stern's show possible.

13. I just don't think he's funny.
I have no problem with the content, if that's what turns your crank, then so be it. Opie and Anthony, on the other hand, have often had me laughing until my stomach hurt, and the bits that have me laughing the hardest are ones where they're not being vulgar or shocking.
