One of my colleagues was Wesley Clark's chauffeur!
Just heard this as I was having a cigarette break (yes, we still do that in Norway...): One of my colleagues, whilst serving with NATO in England, was Wes Clark's chaueffeur while he was the military leader of NATO. He has only good things to say about him, and tells me the officers serving under the man literally idolised him. Sounds like a decent President to me! Go Wes!

1. Military members of lesser rank
had better jump and or kiss ass when a four star is around. Not saying anything against Clark, just a fact of military life.

2. Yup, I suppose, but he wasn't a career military...
...he was just doing his mandatory service in the Army and ended up as a driver for NATO in England (nice work if you can get it!).

Anyhow, what's the latest on Clark's presidential efforts? He's quite popular over at your end, c'est vrai?

3. I think he's doing quite well
Obviously his poll numbers have settled a bit since he joined. The numbers were unrealistically high for the first few days.

He's revealed 3 major policy plans in the past few weeks. One was on a Civilian Reserves which is basically a way for people to volunteer to come to the aid of others in times of crisis like hurricanes or forest fires, etc. Another was on Jobs Creation, and the latest was on how to get the economy turned around. All very good speeches and plans. It's nice to hear about our political system from a European.

Incidentally, I've been through Norway. It was in the late 90s when I was still in the US Air Force. I must tell you, I thought it was one of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen. Cheers!
