4. I missed Roger Waters performing "The Wall" at the Berlin Wall
I didn't exactly pass it up. I had the tickets, my travel pass for what was then East Germany, then my a$$hole sergeant 86'd the whole deal two days before we were supposed to leave.

5. A couple
In high school, I missed seeing the Offspring at the Buzzfest event in Houston 'cause I was a nerd and did the UIL Spelling academic competition. I ended up making it to the state level in UIL so I guess it was worth it, but have always regretted not going 'cause I've always liked those guys, though I've heard they're nothing spectacular in concert.

I also passed up a chance to see Pearl Jam in high school 'cause my friends were going with a couple of non-friends who I thought were assholes. Kind of a dumb reason to pass up seeing one of my favorite groups, but I just couldn't see myself spending a day with those jerks, and didn't like the idea of going by myself.

8. I missed PJ too
By being too chickenshit to just go even though my parents said I couldn't. Though I didn't really have a way to get there.

I've made it up though; I've seen them more than a dozen times since that first tour. But man, that was the first tour!

6. I had a chance to see Weezer and Tenacious D
I didn't know much about them at the time...so I passed.

Years later I stand as a strong Weezer and TD fan. I feel so foolish!

9. Sting
we were offered FREE TICKETS to a Sting concert - but had to beg off
for two reasons

The concert was on a Tuesday night and it was 2 hours away - so between the drive and the concert it would be after midnight when we would return home. Plus we had just taken in a foster dog and until we felt the dog would be ok out and about - she would have to be crated -- going to the concert would mean the dog would be crated all day while we were at work and then several hours in the evening if we went to the concert. Couldn't do that

don't really regret it - as neither of us are huge rabid fans of Sting.... now if it were a Bette Midler concert the decision would have been more difficult.....

I had the chance to go not too long before Kurt Cobain killed himself... but, I had a bit of a cold and figured I could see them later.

wished I had. Also Betty Carter.

Also didn't go to see Elvis Costello when he was here a few years ago.
But I suspect he will be here again sometime soon.

21. I stood outside the Metro the night of Guided by Voices's last show...
But couldn't find a ticket to get in.

Also, my band was set to open for Shudder to Think in 1990, but our lead singer had to go to a Choir field trip to England that week. High School, y'know.

22. YES, YES, YES! Stevie Ray Vaughan, a month before he died.
My brother and I had the opportunity to see him, but both of us were short on cash.

"We'll see him next time," we promised ourselves.

There was, of course, no next time.

30. Prince in Holland in 1987
I still can't believe I didn't go.

I stood in line for hours for that show. Hours and hours in the rain.

The tickets said: "Please wear peach or black."

The concert was apparently AMAZING, and was released as the Sign O The Times video.

Me? I sold my ticket to my friend Marie Claire so I could afford tickets to the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Yeah.
Dumbass.

32. Yep. Cream. End of school year, 1968.
I stayed home to finish a project.
The only "good" thing -- the kids I was going to ride with...they got in a major accident and rolled their car on the way home.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
Still... that might have blown some ground for me w/parental units.
