Guys. Do you prefer older women or younger women. Why?
Based on my posts, you know that I will have to go with older. They can give insights into life that one might lack. From my personal experience, they seem to appreciate my attributes a lot more and don't give me any bullshit. I have heard, but don't know first hand, that they are better at sex too, not that I would know.

This leaves me with a large age range from which to choose, BTW.

8. Definitely older.
Younger women are indecisive, and unsure of what they want, much more likely to stray. An older woman has weeded through the bullshit too many times.

They have their shit together a lot better than the younger girls do. Younger girls have no clue what they want for themselves, but they will do everything possible to torture you until they figure it out.

16. Sorry, I've seen it and experienced it far too often.
There are exceptions, of course, but far too often, it seems like younger women get so self-absorbed in their "life struggle" that they forget to realize they're driving the people closest to them completely insane.

13. I'm married, so this is essentially theoretical...
...but I'd give the edge to women aged 35-55, there's just something about 'em.

The shallow part of me appreciates fit women who work out, though when I was single I wasn't *so* shallow that I insisted on it when I dated someone. It was more of a wow-factor kind of thing.

And a fit 45 year old has always been more drool-worthy to my mind for some reason than a fit 20 year old. I've always thought that, even when I was 18...

24. I vote for younger...
...I find most women my age come into a relationship with either children, at least one divorce, or both. Having no children and never having been married, this makes me uncomfortable. The age difference between me and my gf is pretty big (her-27, me-40), but I have to say we're both comfortable with it and it's the most satisfying relationship I've had in over 10 years.

25. Been with a woman 20 years my senior for 8 years and it just keeps
getting better and better, but then again we're both very very openminded.

OTOH I've met some youngsters with more common sense, drive, wit, and determination than most people I've known. I think it just has to come down to an individual thing...

27. Older is better generally, relatively
My young old girlfriend (23) tortured me. She didn't mean to but did. Unreliable, irresponsible, not clear in her communication etc. The older one I'm with now is 29 and knows exactly what she wants. Much easier to be with. She's almost grown up I would say. The one in between was in her late 30's . Totally grown up, great person, but she met me at the wrong time, although I would have been happy to be with her long term. So the upshot for you guys over 35 is, never fall in love with a "girl", wait for a "woman". .......

28. It doesn't matter
I just want to be able to have a few things in common with them. Too old or too young might be a problem, but I have yet to figure out the cutoff.
Age is a lot lower on my list than many other things. Then again, at this time I am not very picky..lol.

29. depends on the woman and what you're looking for.
In my wild dating days between marriages, I dated women that were as much as 5 years older than me and 15 years younger than me. My wife now is 3 1/2 years younger than me.

It all depends on what you're looking for at the time.

I dated the young women because I was so shy when I was younger that I mostly missed out on dating 18-22 year olds when I was that age and now they seemed suddenly interested now that I was 32/33 and divorced. And, the wild, enthusiastic sex was great. None of them were really looking for anything serious, and I wasn't really either.

I dated women closer to my age because I was also trying to find what I really wanted in a woman for another long-term relationship... as my first marriage basically crashed & burned in less than a year. At least I learned what I didn't want and was gradually able to figure out what would work for me in a long-term relationship. And, I knew women that were closer to my age are generally more likely to be looking for something serious.

34. Close to my age
I prefer girls my age. Maybe older or younger, but close to my age. If I met the right girl and she was older or younger than me significantly, I wouldn't care. Age is not a make or breaker, unless the girl is young enough I end up in prison.

There are differences, there are similarities. I celebrate both, appreciate both, and have found that it isn't age that makes the woman, it is the personality.

Which is why I married my wife, best personality in the world, and she's darn cute too:evilgrin:

38. I'm 60 and women my age...
Edited on Tue May-03-05 04:59 PM by fiziwig
... are just too "grown up". They've lost their inner child somewhere along the way. When I close my eyes, and don't look in a mirror to shatter the illusion, in my mind I'm still 18. I feel like I felt when I was 18, and the last word I use to describe myself is "grownup". I guess that makes me too frivolous and immature for "serious" matronly old ladies my own age.

But since a 60-year old dating a gorgeous energetic 35-year old would be "creepy" (see that other famous age-related post) that basically leaves me with one of two unacceptable choices: 1) date a matronly old lady with a dried up sense of fun and the emotional baggage of three failed marriages or 2) date a zesty, exciting 35-year old and be thought of as a dirty old man.

My solution: I just don't date any more. Haven't for many, many years.

Theoretically, what would I prefer? Well, when I close my eyes and don't look in the mirror, I'm still 18 at heart, so I guess I'd pick someone my own age. ;)

As long as I don't look like I'm in for 40's I can get away with it.

I grew a beard and it came out all gray and I had these women in their 70's initiate conversations with me. I am not that mature so I shaved off my beard only to find my wife (younger than I am) also liked it. I'd grow it back but it was itchy but that's another topic.
