While I have read that 1 in 4 women have, at some point, been sexually abused, I have no idea about the veracity of this statistic.

I think it's a widespread problem but I think it always has been and I don't think it's more of a problem now than it ever has been before. I think we just hear about it more because of our voyeuristic mainstream media.
