I contend that "All Things Must Pass"
is the best Beatles solo album.

Who's with me?

2. Is there much in the way of competition?
Ringorama? The Plastic Ono Band stuff? Double Fantasy? Wings?

Yep, All Things Must Pass beats them all.

It even exonerates Harrison for Cloud 9.

3. Well, John had Imagine.
Paul had Band on the Run - not great, but better than the other stuff he was putting out.

And Ringo... well, nobody expects much from Ringo. As long as he keeps the beat and stays on pitch, he's okay.

6. I'll take "Cloud Nine" over "All Things..." any day you name.

I had the triple album when it first came out. I thought it was dreadful, and if I never hear "My Sweet Lord" again, I'll die a happy woman. I left the album behind in a divorce -- without regret.

But I can rock to "Got My Mind Set On You" - and there are several other good tunes there. :) "Devil's Radio" is a favorite.

On Edit: Basically, the album was just too spiritual for this one-time atheist to enjoy. "What is Life" is good, though.

4. It's a little long though.
George was so happy to be able to put more than 2 songs on a record that he went totally overboard.

As far as the song "All Things Must Pass" itself, I really liked what the Beatles were doing with the song in the infamous "Get Back" sessions.

I would even say, that had the Beatles actually released one more album, and it would have contained the best elements of "All Things Must Pass", "McCartney",and "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band", it would have been even more a masterpiece than Abbey Road.

5. If you cut out those pointless jams, the album shortens considerably.
They're the weak spot of the album. I don't even consider them to be part of the album, honestly.

Yes, a post Abbey Road album could have been great. Even Ringo could have had a good song ("It Don't Come Easy").
