DU IS GONNA RUIN MY LIFE! No, just kidding. I love it here and that's why I spend so much time procrastinating here.

DU is a terrific way to avoid studying for a dreaded exam the next day. I've had 3 days to study and have basically wasted them.

And I spent yesterday taking him to the vet 30 miles away and getting him medicine and otherwise ministering to him. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

17. okay
I'm something of a loner, but not as bad as I used to be. I work at a Pet Valu. I'm actually an introvert. I am majoring in Englsih - Writing, which may come as a surprise to some since I don't bother much with proper grammar and such here at DU.

26. The internet is awesome for introverts... You get to meet people
and you don't feel so tired and shaken up afterwards (like it is with people in the off-line world)...

35. I totally agree
it's much easier to make silly and dumb comments here than when meeting people face to face. I think it helps with the introvertedness too

42. Yup... Introverts come across as smart and thoughtful here...
Which they truly are. In off-line life, sometimes they don't show all they've got because they are kind of shy and society is not very kind on them (the guys who "make" it are the ones who talk loudly, regardless of what they've got to say).

I'm a student (in high school) and I plan to major in poli-sci. I hope to go to Reed (Portland, Or) but I'm going to have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully my ACT/SAT scores will be good enough.

:D My morning's wouldn't be the same without DUers! It certainly makes me more tolerant at work. I work for a homehealth agency so the idiots run rampant. I'm on DU for about 3-4 hours every morning and you'll catch me on an occasional afternoon. Without you guys, I'd probably get fired for being so bitchy. :P

and what I miss the most, after time with my dog, is DU. Isn't that pathetic?
But it is my main source of truth, REAL news, information, serious thought provoking articles, some pretty funny stuff, and every now and then falling off my chair funny stuff.
It is great to find a place filled with people who share so many of my ideas...like a virtual CHEERS...everyone knows my name.

EDIT: One of the advantages of this kind of communication is that you can be visible only when you want to be..and invisible (just lurk and read) when you are not in the mood to add to the conversation...without being judged as being moody, shy, or whatever.
