So, I'm finally moving out of my parents house (again)
Well, it's been over 2 years now, and I'm going to get an apartment. I found this website where people go and rate the apartments they live in. How much stock should I put into what they say?

I mean, on some the person will complain about the loud upstairs neighbor, but that comes with apartment territory. Should I really just go off the crime statistics of the area or should I take into account this apartment rating as well?

1. I don't know about your area...
but I read my apartment ratings and the posts and ratings of my building could not have been further from the truth. I have never had a problem, but people were posting ridiculous things that did not even have a grain of truth to them...

That's what I was thinking. I looked up an old apartment and really I had never had a problem there.

I'm looking to move to North Arlington (from SW Arlington). I know you said you used to live down here a few years ago.

On the Arlington website you can look up apartment complexes by name and see what's happened there for a little more than a year. So I can see if they have a lot of car thefts and robberies. And Arlington has a program that complex can join and it's like a Neighborhood watch and they have a list of those as well.

edited to add: BTW did you hear back from your interview yet?

3. I was there several months ago visiting family...
There were alot of new buildings and complexes being built. There were 3 of them in SW Arlington on South Cooper near Mansfield. I also drove by a very nice looking new development in North Arlington, but I can't remember the specifics of either one.

Good Luck on the apartment search! My building is going co-op, so that means I will either have to buy, or leave my beloved, perfect, cozy home! The investment would be worth it, if I actually had the money to spend.

I haven't heard anything from the interview. I am still hoping...

4. I'm sure you'll hear within the week about the job
And yeah, well I go to UT Arlington and work in Irving, so I want to move to North Arlington b/c it's in the middle of both. It's been forever since I looked for an apartment, and I'm not moving until August, but I want to sign the lease in June and have everything set.
