Any GTA "Vice City" fans here?
I know, I know. It's incredibly violent and twisted. . . But goddamn it, it's fun. Plus, the main right-wing Republican politician in the game is named Shrub. I only just picked it up for the PC. It runs a little slow on my laptop, but it's still a hoot.

1. I bought GTA III...
I stopped playing it because (a) all I ever did was to drive around the city running over pedestrians, and (b) I was tempted to do the same thing in real life so I sure as heck STOPPED playing!

Apart from a Shrub character, which is almost enough to get me to buy the game, how else is it different?

I should also see if it can be played under Linux, I think WineX 3.1 does support it... (I'm moving back to Linux once my CPU cooling fan and RAM upgrade arrive for my new PC... Yeah, the nforce2 chipset works best if 2 RAM modules are installed...) www.transgaming.com claims it will run... :D

2. My only prior GTA experience was the London 1969 version.
Which was a riot, by the way--driving around the East End in Jags and Minis, working for a bunch of cockney Kray-esque gangsters. That one was an overhead view and VC is ground-level view. Ostensibly, in VC, you're supposed to take orders and move up the crime ladder. The best bit is the radio--it takes place in 1986, so the stations all play great 80s music. It's pretty involved.

3. Wicked!!
I'd have preferred 1984, but what's 2 years?

Thanks for the info!
