I FINALLY beat Knights Of The Old Republic II
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 11:04 PM by realisticphish
wow. this game has been my sole love and companion for the last 2 weeks. To be finished is both exhilerating and depressing. I play RPG's in part for the storyline, and this had a great one. Now it's over. And I'm sad.

Ahh, well. I suppose I should venture out into this supposed "real world"

1. It's strange, because it's a long game
But when it's over you feel like it was too short.

Great, great game. Did you play light side or dark?

2. light
i just cant do dark... i try, but i just feel bad treating people like shit.

what DID piss me off was the fact that I wasn't the character before... i.e., Revan. I would have liked to see it pick up with Revan returning from the outer rim.

and it sure as hell felt too short. the ending left me unsatisfied too, kind of short and abrubt.

Though, I've heard that they are working on 3 right now

3. I'm the same way with light v dark
I played both but liked the light path better.

The dark path is a hell of a lot shorter because you end up just killing all the quest people.

Some cool force powers and NPC's though.

5. i learned "kill" on malachor
and i am horrified that i did not learn it earlier; it's the coolest power EVER.

though i didn't need it; my guy was a jedi weapons master, and i just used flurry over and over again with a double edged light saber, and cut through dark jedi like butter :D

4. my son would be impressed
I mistakenly bought him the first one and he loved it, before I realized it was a little too intense for him. ( age 8) and by then he was totally indoctrinated and wanted all of the other similar SW games...

6. My nephew is 4 and he's watched all three original SW movies
Dozens of times.

He's not even afraid of Vader. I sure as hell was when I was 4!

7. I am trying to think when we let ours watch SW
probably the same age 4 or 5. But we saw it at home - I think that makes a difference. Wonder it Vader has just become one of those cultural constants, in a way. And SW is oddly innocuous now.

But he didn't see LOTR til he was 7/8. He was scared of Emperor Zurg in Toy Story 2 though. Screamed bloody murder when he was 4.

11. yeah we let him play all those medieval battle games
I think it was the RPG thing and FPS thing. Maybe it was just the "shooting and killing" thing. I know, I'm just a wussie old mom. :)

8. Completely disagree with you about this RPG.
Don't get me wrong, BioWare's original KOTOR was a masterpiece but this sequel fell short in about every category. You should check out Obsidian Entertainment's forums -- it's amazing how much material was cut from this game, bugs and the convoluted psuedo-philosophical force-babble story aside. There's a third installment in the works and it'll be built on a new engine -- here's hoping they do it right this time.

9. like i said
i beat the first one, and loved it; my only problem with the story here was all the loose ends. as long as it's consistent with the movie-universe, i would love to know more about the force, origin of sith, etc.

I too, am amazed at the amount of material cut. The HK droid factory, for one. I would like to see a wider variety of planets, not to mention a less linear gameplay style (a la Morrowind).

i think the interface was much better in 2, though.

also... i would love to be able to be a non-human jedi. that would rule

now, let this rambling post come to a close :D
