I just got a new upper denture, ask me anything!
at three oclock i was sporting a new smile after years of messed up teeth. Started adulthood with great straight teeth, ended my thirties with lots of extractions.

Now I am smiling at the dog, the bird, the couch, and the mirror. Sore mouth, cause good dentist scraped and filed the bone, but otherwise doin great on some hydrocodone tonight.
\
ask me anything!
share your own story if you like!
\let me know Im not alone/!!

7. Thats young for a denture.
There are many in my family who have gotten them at an early age. 20s, 30s, 40s. You are definitely not alone.

8. well, for about a decade
i was very neglectful of my teeth, and little caries become big ones..and the rest is history. after all the kids i had, for once it was nice to buy me something that made me feel more confident and soon i can eat pistachios..so im thrilled. too bad theres not some way to get a good dental plan without paying out the nose...but worth every dollar...all one thousand of em. whew!

9. I ate a Whopper the next day.....
for the first time in 2 years. It was the most beautiful Whopper I ever ate! Within a few weeks, you'll be able to bite into an apple again!

The best part of all is being able to smile at PEOPLE again, and they smile back.

Welcome to the freedom club TXLady!

14. Nice!
Looks very nice! :)

I kinda wish I had different upper teeth. I was cursed w/ very large front teeth and I think they look strange and out of place sometimes. Especially in comparison to my other teeth :D I even had braces but hardly wear my retainer so they have moved back a little...

24. Very very nice. ...... I have some ??????'s
I'm afraid I'm headed for the same fate. My teeth have always been strong and I have had very few cavities or any other problems through out my 40+ years except with my gums. I've battled for the past 20 years going in every 4 to 6 months for root plaining and scrapings and gum surgeries and my dentist has said he's never seen calculus build up so fast or so hard before. My once straight upper teeth (never needed braces) are no longer straight and a couple of them are slightly loose now due to bone loss. I hate my smile.

I'm absolutely terrified, phobic about losing my teeth :-( But your's look so nice, it helps a little to see results like yours but I'm still so terrified.

So......
What are your new teeth made of?
Do they look the same or similar as your real teeth did? Say from an old photo of your smile?
Do you notice any major changes (good or bad) in the shape or contours of your face around your mouth area, aside from the obvious and having a nice smile now of course?
What about speaking, any adjustments there?

I'm so scared:cry:

They really do look great:thumbsup:
Much nicer than my yucky real ones.

19. Glad you have your new teeth, enjoying the hydrococone?
I know how happy you are,I just finished getting my dental work, 4 wisdom teeth extracted, one root canal, and six crowns. All this took a little over a year, no dental insurance but a good dental discount card.

I am enjoying eating what I want to, no more worries about old fillings falling out.

I found a good dentist, that is very important. Have fun and your teeth look great.

23. I really lucked into my two dentist.
I always had good teeth, except for the childhood fillings.

My wisdon teeth came very late, made me sick for few months until I found out what the problem was, very bad sinus.

A friend told me about my oral surgeon, he was very good. I choose to be sedated because one wisdom tooth was going to be a problem coming out.

Then the oral surgeon told about my now Dentist, and she is just great, the root canal was nothing, very little pain afterward.

I was a dental coward, but no more.

My sister just got a upper plate, took to long getting them.

Take care and have fun eating.
