Do you shop online?
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 01:06 PM by Jessica
If so, do you do it often & what are your favorite sites? I like Ebay (of course), Overstock, & Banana Republic (only when they're having a sale). I generally only shop online for special occasions & for things I hate trying on in stores.

You? :)

1. I do. pricewatch.com
Beware of overstock. I've gotten crap from them before and they don't accept returns for faulty merchandise.

3. Really?
I've only gotten a few things there ... but I've never had to return anything. The cheap shipping costs are what sold me.

13. I'm sorry to hear that. BTW, Overstock has a
"Dark Blue" rating from BuyBlue:

http://www.buyblue.org/detail.php?corpId=200

I've only bought one item from them, but the transaction was entirely pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

My very Liberal mother--who's been boycotting WalMart for years--has bought from them as well, with equally happy results.

Other than that, I've been buying on eBay for several years now, and have only had one bad experience. That was with a private seller, not an eBay "Power seller" (I mostly buy Moroccan and Turkoman rugs, clothing and artifacts from professional sellers with 99-100% favorable feedback ratings).

5. I do most of my shopping on line.
Just bought my fiance's b-day gift at www.eluxury.com. I spend a lot of money on video games at ebay, but I also buy all of my books online at barnes and noble and today just bought my new computer online. I also just bought a bunch of new bookshelves online at office depot. Unless I have to be fitted for clothing, buy groceries or toiletries, or building materials, I buy most things off the internet.

8. Lately I've been into Zappos.com for shoes.
I have freakishly wide feet, so shoe shopping is often exhausting and frustrating. Zappos has an incredible selection and their customer service is outstanding. They are a bit pricey, but it's often worth it to me to spend the extra $5-10, if it keeps me from having to run to 5-6 different shoe stores in a futile search for the true meaning of life. Which is shoes.

11. Banana Republic? Please say no....
BR, The Gap, Old Navy, are all owned by the same anti-environment (explitation of forests), 3d-world-sweat-shop-promoting company. Many of us have boycotted them for years. I hope you'll consider it.

12. I buy music on-line
Still C.D.s - though obviously when I buy downloads I do that on-line. I do not have very mainstream tastes in music - not even mainstream classical - which means finding something I want is not easy except with people like Amazon - it also means that I can shop when I'm theoretically working.

14. I do about 1/2 of my shopping online.
And at Christmas just about 100%. I can't deal with the malls and crowded stores. Plus, if you are buying for someone out of town, it can be shipped directly to them.
