why they call them underpants for men, and 'panties' for women.

The only difference is that the ones they push on women are lacy and itchy and generally uncomfortable.

And the men's are plain, severe and bind and generally uncomfortable.

It's be nice if they made decent underclothing for both sexes without all the cultural clap-trap involved.
