2. I have the album with the swan on it

(Can't remember the name now) How is this album?

I like them and I liked some of the Archers of Loaf stuff he did. Kind of sounds like a raspy drunk and depressed Neil Diamond.

5. The thing I loved moist about Archers of Loaf was

Eric Bachmann's gutteral bark of a voice. Such a great band, good guitarists, a heavy hitting drummer, hot fist-pumping melodies, mostly uptempo tuneage....man, what a fucking band AoL were!

But Crooked Fingers....I just don't know where Bachmann's going with this project. He doesn't sing the way he used to, which suits me much less than "just fine." And the whole Americana angle of the material....Hmmm. It ain't "Harnessed in Slums" (one of the top twenty greatest songs ever recorded) but it's better than Ashlee Simpson...or silence.

I love love love them (with heavy caveats).

Ask hedges; there's an entire shelf in my house devoted to Dead bootlegs on CD....my tape collection is even larger. I must have over 500 hours of live Dead.

I admit that I am pretty damn contrary about stuff, though.

I just heard about Crooked Fingers from a friend and checked them out. I'll give that song you mentioned a listen, though.
