Runaway buffalo in US suburb is corralled into tennis court

A herd of runaway buffalo wandered across a suburb of the eastern US city of Baltimore, before being corralled into a tennis court.

Alarmed residents first reported that about 10 animals were roaming through the streets early on Tuesday.

Police shut down majors roads, tracked down the buffalo and herded them into the court.

The cattle were returned to a local farm to which they belong. It is not clear how they escaped.

1. Three of the Buffalo will be slaughtered,
and the meat will be donated to local charities. Apparently once they have escaped, they are a threat to escape again. (Not sure of the logic of this, but that is what they said on the Channel 2 news out of Baltimore last night.)
