Rock music can literally kill
Yes it's true, your Led Zeppelin and Vanilla Fudge cds are clearly guilty of homicide...

http://www.av1611.org/neutral.html

"An intensive series of studies carried out....demonstrated the effects of different kinds of music on a variety of household plants. The experiments were controlled under strict scientific conditions, and the plants were kept within large closed cabinets on wheels in which light, temperature and air were automatically regulated. Three hours a day of acid rock, played through a loudspeaker at the side of the cabinet, was found to stunt and damage squash plants, philodendrons and corn in under four weeks...."

"...Within ten days, the plants exposed to Led Zeppelin and Vanilla Fudge were all LEANING AWAY FROM THE SPEAKER. After three weeks they were stunted and DYING....Further, it was discovered that plants to which placid, devotional music was played not only grew two inches taller than plants left in silence, but also leaned TOWARDS THE SPEAKER...."

"A recent teenage fad was that of taking soft eggs to rock concerts and placing them at the foot of the stage. Midway through the concert the eggs could be eaten hard-boiled as a result of the music. Amazingly few rock fans wondered what that same music might do to their bodies..."

"...Perhaps you have seen the demonstration of the breaking of a glass by synchronizing high frequency vibrations with the vibrations of the chemical combination of the molecules in the glass. This in a word picture is what may happen physiologically to the human body when dancing frantically to rock music...."

1. This is what Zappa said about music influence ...

and I paraphase poorly.

Since 90% of songs are written about love, then you would expect everyone to be falling in love. This clearly isn't happening.

Cheers

5. It's not the words or the lyrics...
It's the notes! If they are put together with evil intention then they are evil also. I suppose. I think that's what they're trying to say.

(hey what happened to the eyes roll smilie?)

2. Yeah, but
there was another study where cows that listened to Pink Floyd gave more milk than cows that listened to classical music. And this study was conducted by actual researchers, not fundies.

4. Ummm . . . when exactly was taking "soft" eggs to rock concerts a fad?
I mean . . . fertilizing eggs at rock concerts has a long and proud tradition, but taking soft eggs to concerts?

6. Did you know that sound, that pure rock sound can kill? Far out.
That's a line (or close to it) from National Lampoon's "Lemmings", a satire of Woodstock.

It was an off-Broadway show in the early '70s. A big hit, apparently. Very dark humor, but the music parodies I've heard from it are pretty good.

Belushi, Chevy Chase, and others who went on to be part of the original SNL cast were part of the show.

7. pure-d hooie
Once I read this part

And some Christians actually believe that the giver of LIFE - the Lord Jesus Christ is the author and god of "rock and roll"! The One that made the plants and LIFE itself, is the author of a killer - Rock music! What could be more ridiculous!

It was pretty clear this was the same old, long ago debunked BS.

8. Well, at least they didn't expose those poor innocent plants
to hardcore pornography...

:banghead:

Funny hose science is "good" when it supports your moral and religious beliefs, but "bad" when it doesn't.

In the end - ALL the plants next to the rock music - DIED!

Do you still think music is neutral?

Rock music, not the lyrics - JUST THE MUSIC, has been scientifically proven to literally KILL!

And some Christians actually believe that the giver of LIFE - the Lord Jesus Christ is the author and god of "rock and roll"! The One that made the plants and LIFE itself, is the author of a killer - Rock music! What could be more ridiculous!

10. I KNEW there was a reason I played guitar.
Now, using this information, how can I get my band's music to kill fundies?

BTW, gotta call bullshit on this: "A recent teenage fad was that of taking soft eggs to rock concerts and placing them at the foot of the stage. Midway through the concert the eggs could be eaten hard-boiled as a result of the music. Amazingly few rock fans wondered what that same music might do to their bodies..."

My ASS that's a teenage fad. Egg-eating will NEVER replace getting wasted and fucking.

12. Mythbusters took this on....
It doesn't matter what you say or expose plants to, they do better if exposed to sound.

It's a great episode that also takes on torture.
