We hardly ever go to concerts. Too noisy, too many people, not our bag at all. I told DH last year, though, that if U2 ever came to our town, I would spend whatever I had to :scared: to get some tickets. I have loved their music since the first time I ever heard "Pride (In the Name Of Love)".

U2 is playing the hall with the worst acoustics in town tonight. Even though it is my dearest wish to see them live, I can't justify shelling out mucho dinero to hear Bono sound like he's singing into a tin can.

Soooo, while I'm mopping up here ;-), what group (or performer,) would you spend whatever you had to to see them live? The only other one I can think of is Stevie Wonder, especially if he were performing in a smaller venue.

U2 tickets went on sale here a few weeks ago ... I was fourth in line and by the time I got up there, it was $90 a seat!! I could TECHNICALLY afford it, but I'm a college student who is going out on her own in a few years ... so I had to sniffle away from the ticket booth!! A friend of mine and I are going to see the Killers instead--at less than a fourth of the price! They're a great new band, but it's not the same!

It really burns me up how high ticket prices have gotten nowadays! But no matter the price, I would pay anything to have seen the Beatles play live! Impossible NOW of course ... so I guess I would pay anything for Franz Ferdinand in a small venue or Bruce Springsteen.

3. Queen
But I'd need a heavily modified DeLorean and a bit of plutonium (or Mr. Fusion)
If it was possible, I'd make damn sure I had enough money to go back in time to see Queen live, when Freddie was in his glory.

But of the groups that are still performing today, I'd have to say Steely Dan. Next time they're in town, I'm going.

4. Oh, I'd have to agree!
Queen in their heyday would have been AMAZING. I am still kicking myself that I didn't go to see Nirvana in Seattle four months before Kurt Cobain killed himself.
