Westcoasters: Who's up for a West Coast meetup?
Edited on Mon Apr-25-05 04:00 PM by Taverner
I think we need to outdo those Beantowners....so who's up for a nice get-together in the amazing city of BERKELEY?

WHAT: A meetup

WHERE: Triple Rock Brewery or another like establishment.

WHEN: Sometime this summer

WHO: YOU!

WHY: Because we have to outdo the NorEasters!

Just post on this if interested :)

Did you pay MSRP? Did you get the extended warranty?

I have to wait a few weeks before I seriously go shopping. Around here they come and go from the dealers very quickly.

29. No extended warranty, no service plan
Just MSRP! We held out and after haggling we got them to sell it without upgrades.

It was work tho! The trick is to go to Red America. They don't sell as well out there.

Apparently they're jealous too - California Republicans are trying to draft a bill that makes Prius owners pay extra highway taxes because we don't pay our fair share of of taxes when buying gas (boo hoo!)

but you have to apply for a sticker.

23. San Francisco is a great city, no doubt
But parking is really tough, and BART doesn't go anywhere near the cooler bars and pubs.

Berkeley has a rep of its own that it lives up to. It usually has better weather, better prices and it has TRIPLE ROCK!!!! THE FIRST MICROBREWERY IN THE US!!!

either take a cab or god forbid walk, the walk back would be difficult for sure. I haven't been to the Berkley bookstore for awhile, it be nice to be able go there as well.

The time is not set in stone - I just threw it out there.

I can house some too, but I have baby so it might not be able to accomodate the most.

HOWEVER, I think my place might be the best to house those travelling with wee ones, should they decide to do so...

July 16th seems to be the best date for everyone....but I can change it if we can find another date. August is bad for a few folks, and the weekend after is bad too...

June is too early and I don't want to do it the weekend of the 4th since that will mean lots of travel hassles for anyone not from Berkeley.

106. Need a place to stay in Bay Area?
I can take up to three or four guests at my place. Bring sleeping bags and groceries. I have good wine, herbal smokes and music. PM me.

Can't provide car transport though. I've only got a two seater. :-(

(BTW I'm extending my trust here to DU guests as a direct challenge to the new "Amerikan Paranoia". So please don't let me down by taking undue advantage.)

110. I can assist with transport - and my home is open to all with wee ones
I figure that would work out best as I have a baby, and only other parents of wee ones would understand what life is like with a baby in the house.

112. Is the place large enough?
We're normally a good sized crowd when we get together and, from the looks of responses to this thread, we seem to be growing (Yay!). Would a Chevy's type place with outdoor seating be better for July in the East Bay? Think pitchers of Margaritas. And beer, too. What do you all think?
