How long did you "LURK" before joining the forum?

Over the past few years there have been smatterings of postings by "newbies" who stated they lurked for several days, weeks before joining the forums --

How long did you "LURK" before joining the forum?

please post what made you decide to join?

1. It took me a few months

I came here in either Dec. of 2002 or Jan. 2003. I read GD and LBN the most. When georgie went in to Iraq, I was glad that there were people here who were against it as much as I was, and that's when I started posting.
I think it took me about 6 months to get 50 posts..lol.

2. About 2 yrs.

I was kingofalllurkers before I joined, in fact after I joined I lurked for a while.

5. It took me about 2 years too

I would go to the Breaking News to see what is really happening in this country. Then after the 2004 elections, when DU was closed to everyone but members, I was devestated I couldn't get in. Begged Skinner to allow me to join. I felt so out of the loop for those days I could get in.

3. found out about DU before the election

and joined end of January after I built up some courage. I loved to read the threads in the Lounge and wanted to answer some of them. So I finally signed up. And haven't regret it yet :)

4. About 4 or 5 months..

6. Joined immediately - but only posted later

I only came out of my little shell when I found the L.G.B.T. forum - then came to the Lounge (which we now know IS the centre of the universe) and have never left.

7. I joined quickly; if nothing else but to start blathering more quickly...

9. Joined immediately. Never entered my mind NOT to join. Because I live

in a red state, I was desperate to have somebody to "talk" to about Democrat politics. I knew I had a found a home at DU from day one. :)
