Anyone studying psychology - answer me this
When I'm with either of my roomies alone, its always great... we get along tremendously. But when it's them together, they seem to be a little more surly toward me.

What's up with that?

3. When you say, surly, what do you mean?
Could be competitive thing, that they are harnessing and projecting.

If I walk into a room and say "Hey want a piece of cake" I get flat, almost aggressive one word answers.

They seem generally grumpy

7. Do they get along with each other?
Maybe it has nothing to do with you, but strictly with their relationship with each other.

6. Group identity
When you are alone with a person they adopt a particular persona. When they are with the other person a different array of personality traits may come forward. When all three are together there is an attempt to balance the various traits but in effect the mind reacts to a group as if it were a new or seperate identity. Each person jockies for position within this identity and finds their place and defends their own internal identity as needed.

13. Group dynamics....
Some people act differently when alone, than when many are involved. If you continue to have a problem with it, just go to the Library and get some books on groups dynamics. It'll help you out....

16. Absolutely its funny....
...and a learning experience. And always keep in mind, its their problem, not yours. I've had friends who when separate, act one way with me, but when together, act another. The key is just be yourself. As you said, it'll be more fun watching them act silly, while you just sit back and observe and be yourself....
