It's April 24 and it's EFFING SNOWING here!!!!
@#$@%@#$%#$%#$^#$## and ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! and @#!@$@#%@$@#@## some more!!! WTF is this, anyway? The weather had finally, FINALLY cleared and gotten nice after a horrible winter and a cold, dreary, rainy, snowy March and early April, and my cold that had turned into a nasty case of bronchitis had FINALLY lifted. My fibromyalgia seemed to disappear with the warm weather, which meant I was feeling SOOOO much better (those of you with the same condition, or with arthritis and similar conditions, will understand exactly what I mean); I was actually able to concentrate, move around, and get things done.

But, NOOOO, winter had to blast in yet again, since it just can't seem to let go this year, and all fucking weekend it's been cold rain and SNOW! It's late April and it's been fucking SNOWING ALL DAY!! HELLOOOOOO winter! You can GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE NOW!!!

Especially since our basement's been badly flooded all weekend (it's rained and snowed for three days straight, our sump pump is overwhelmed and has quit because there'd simply nowhere for the water to go, everything's saturated), and having to be out so much in the cold since we had to rent a pump and pump the water outside and guess who had to monitor the hose outside, my fibromyalgia is so bad now I can barely move. Tomorrow will really be a nightmare because the basement's still badly flooded and we have to keep pumping it all fucking day. And it's supposed to SNOW TOMORROW TOO! ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

I don't think I can take another Cleveland winter, not with my condition.

1. If I didn't hate Cleveland before,
I sure as hell do now.

2. Well come on down to sunny Florida.

I got tired of Cleveland winters 2 years ago, and my arthritis has never felt better.

It got "a little windy" here last summer, but the move was worth it. I got an e-mail this evening from a friend up there, said thay had 6 inches in his driveway.

edit: spelling----And BTW, looks like the Browns had a good draft for a change. We have a Browns Backers bar about a mile from the house.

5. Believe me, I'm definitely thinking of
moving to a warmer climate. I'm not sure I want it to be Florida, though, the summers are brutally hot and humid from what my friends and family who are scattered throughout the state tell me. Maybe the southwest, like Arizona, or even California. I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia this year, as well as arthritis in my hands (and I'm only forty!); both are getting worse and I feel so much better in warm weather. I'm a single parent and I'm not sure what I'd do for a job, but I just don't think I can take another winter here.

10. Actually summers in Cleveland get hotter, and just as humid
I live about 3 miles inland from the gulf, just north of Tampa (Tarpon Springs) and we get a nice gulf breeze in the summer. It has never reached 100 degrees here. And the humidity was similar to Cleveland.

However, this is a right to work (be fired) state, and wages are waaay low. If I had to work, I'd still be stuck in Cleveland. When LTV steel folded I was forced to retire at 49. Hate it!

20. The attitude for FL summer weather
Pretend to be a hothouse flower B-)

I'd move gulfward but I don't like the idea of living in hurricane alley. I'll take the earthquake zone in the Pac NW instead.

3. Here in Montana, we mowed the grass in tank tops. Had to go in for part
of the day as the sun was getting to me. It'll probably snow here by Tuesday

4. Strange. We usually get all the freakish weather here.
It was beautiful here today. Sunny and in the 60s.

17. Ha! Our lakes are usually frozen over until May 15
in the northern part of the state. If that makes you feel any better.

7. I feel yer pain...
Been a rough winter, and now this final bitch slap of a storm! We've got 8" on the ground here in SE Michigan, and it's still coming down HARD. 20-30 mph winds too! NOAA is calling it a "Historic Storm". Take comfort in the fact that within 48 hrs it'll all be a bad memory!

12. I know, apparently
several area states are getting socked as bad as we are as well. "Historic Storm", indeed, and I hope it's the last one for the next fifty years or so. The last time I remember it snowing this late in the year was back in 1982, when a blizzard ruined my Easter vacation during the last week of April.

11. I KNOW, this is so messed up.
I WAS going to get my sweaters cleaned and put in storage this weekend, too. Didn't happen.

Sorry to hear this has worsened your illness, that just blows. Have you heard anything about when this shit is supposed to let up? I hope driving conditions are good for the meetup next weekend...

13. From what I hear, it's
supposed to taper off gradually, it should be cleared up by Tuesday afternoon. It better goddamn well be and this better be the last goddamn cold weather before the nightmare of next winter starts.

I'm sure everything will be totally cleared up by the time of the meetup this Saturday. I actually have a seminar in Pittsburgh to attend on Saturday; it ends at 4 p.m., so I should be able to join you all by 6:30 or so.

14. My nephew's birthday is May 20
and it's snowed twice here in Alberta in the past decade on that day.

15. Snow in MAY?
I have honestly never encountered that, not even in Cleveland. I love Canada, but I don't think I'd ever want to live there if that's the kind of weather I'd have to deal with!

19. Wow! I'm used to my own
birthday dinners getting snowed out because it's on January 3, but I never would have even thought of a May birthday having snow!!!
