I'm a wuss

I could use some support here.

There's a rabbit we performed surgery on 6 weeks ago. It started to die in the midst of surgery and I gave it mouth to mouth. I didn't just blow at its mouth, I locked lips and gave good, healthy breaths.

He survived. He was partially paralyzed for a week. I fed him with a syringe for a week, until he started hopping around.

He started chewing at his leg, and we've been applying antibiotics.

I have to sacrifice him this Monday.

I have to.

This sucks. He trusts me now, I'm the guy who brings him treats when the vets aren't looking.

Can somebody tell me I'm not a total shit, please?

Is he to be sacrificed because he is in so much pain he can't live a normal life?

I know this is gut-wrenching, but take comfort the bun will not suffer anymore, and you will be a kind and caring person to take him into the transition.

3. I can understand your plight

I worked with rats when I was in college. They were smart little critters. Take good care of yourself the day you sacrifice the rabbit.
