So I'm getting my cat shaved tomorrow.
Yes, really, and do have fun with the obvious pun.

But seriously, I have a question--do I tip the groomer? This is the first time I've taken my cat in for professional grooming, and I honestly have no idea. I tip my hairdresser, but this isn't quite the same....

Help, please!

6. I think about 15%
It's been a while since I've taken Papa in, but that sounds about right. :)

7. Thanks!
Didn't wanna be tacky and NOT tip if I should. Now I just have to continue trying to persuade my husband that we DO NOT want that idiotic "lion cut" on him. He thinks it'll be hilarious, I'm horrified at the idea.

2. I tipped the groomer
when I took the dog to her. I thought it was only right considering she was dealing with my dog :)

Sorry, I'd normally come up with a smart-ass post, but it's be just like gilding the lily...and we all know what THAT really means, knudge knudge wink wink.

10. Because he's a long-haired slob with mats from hell.
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 03:27 PM by Shakespeare
He's part maine coon, which gives him an extremely thick coat. Even daily brushing won't keep the mats out---AND it makes him hotter than hell in summer--so we usually shave him every spring (and it grows back just in time for fall and cooler weather). He loves being a lean (well, not so lean), mean, streamlined kitty, all ready for summer.

We've been doing it ourselves, but his coat is SO thick that it literally burned out the motor in the electric trimmer last time, so we've decided to let a pro step in and do it for us.
