True or False:
Some amount of discomfort is a good thing, as it causes us to be aware of and appreciate the comfort we have.

1. False. If that were true, sex would be painful. Only love is.

5. But doesn't ....
Bad sex make you appreciate good sex? I'm not necessarily talking about anything specific, so any context works... Bad relationships make you appreciate the good ones more.

Or are you just being a cynic? ;)

14. I guess I thought of discomfort as something more like painful
Edited on Sat Apr-23-05 06:47 AM by Feeney2
rather than just an uneasiness. If sex is rather just boring then I guess one would desire to attain more fun. In thast I would give you the nod. And yes, I am a cynic.

15. What about the aftermath of sex? Or S&M/Bondage...
Bondage speaks for itself, but all too many don't recognize the importance of VD.

2. You mean like if Skittles were kicking your ass...
You'd appreciate a time when your ass is not getting kicked?

I can dig it.

6. True, similar to the old saying regarding opposition....
A certain amount of opposition is a help, not a hindrance. Kites rise against the wind, not with it.

:yourock:

False:

The opposite of what you stated in you post.

I agree, I don't think that you can appreciate a good lover unless you lived through some heart ache.

11. It is like the difference between sniffing paint and glue
the nights when you can only get latex based house paint make you really appreciate the nights when you have a full bottle of model airplane glue

:P

17. I agree absolutely!
For instance, we often take our good health for granted. Until we are sick and miserable! Then our good health is suddenly much more meaningful to us, and we are so much happier when we regain it.
