Poll question: Take the Star Wars Poll: Your opinion on the upcoming movie
I know I have mixed feelings about this. George messed it up the last 2 times. Had he just tightened up the movies a bit and remove a few annoying unnecessary characters, I think both of those movies would have been amazing. Both Phantom Menance and Attack of the Clones had amazing special effects and some of the best light saber fight sequences. But I could spend the next 2 hours discussing what was wrong with them - which was mainly poor story lines that annoyed the fans.

However, after saying that, I know I'm still excited to see the next Star Wars because the Star Wars franchise has been something I've lived with for all of my life (I was 10 when the first one came out). But I'm nervous because if Lucas fucks this up, it'll ruin everything that he has created. One would like to think that 4 out of 6 of the movies were great.

So how do you feel about next movie

2. Other: Don't like ANY of the Star Wars movies much, but this is appealing
I'm actually excited to see this one, even though I haven't really liked ANY of the movies so far. Everything I hear about it sounds pretty intriguing. That said, I haven't got much, if any, faith in Georgie to put out a good movie, so we'll see.

3. You summed up my feelings on this
I also wish Georgie would have just left the original three movies alone--maybe updated a few visual or sound effects, but that's it. The "Greedo shooting first" bit is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen on film, and the scene he added with Han Solo and Jabba in the first movie is boring and completely redundant (almost all the dialog is also in the Greedo scene). Lucas essentially ruined the pacing of the original movies with his "improvements".

4. I expect the movie to suck worse than Matrix III.
And that's saying a lot.

Lucas should have turned the directing to someone with talent.

6. The Empire Strikes Back was almost entirely farmed out...
and it is generally considered as the best of the entire series.

I truly believe that George Lucas is a visionary, but when it comes to the little details, he blows. He needs to leave that to others.

5. I saw the original "Star Wars" on it's opening day ....
and kinda liked it because it was fun and tongue-in-cheek. I also saw Lucas's blatant theft, er, use of ideas from many other films and film genres.

I never cared for the series, though, have missed almost all of them, except for bits and pieces on cable TV. I saw a large chunk of the "Attack of the Clones" and thought it pretty awful.

8. I may be in the minority here
But, I actually like Attack of the Clones. The chase scene in the asteriod belt and the final battle scenes just blew me away.

I think that this final chapter is going to be fantastic.

And by the way, I never faulted Lucas for altering his story as he saw fit. As a creative person myself, I understand exactly where he's coming from.
