Poetry group initiative

I don't know if you all will go for this seeing as how we already have a writer's forum. But several of us got together last night on a poetry thread and a few of us thought that a group devoted to poetry would be cool. Here's the first draft of a mission statement:

The Poetry group is for all members who are interested in writing, reading, and talking about poetry. The group is meant to be a place where we can talk constructively about each other's poems as well as discuss poetry by other authors ranging from the obscure to the classics.

That's all I can think of right now. Let me know if you want to add to or edit the statement.

I'm having a few beers and contemplating love. I haven't been in love since I was 17 and I'm 32 now. But there's this woman I've been conversing with who makes me feel all squishy inside. She lives a 1000 miles away, but I'm going to get to meet her in person this fall. I can't wait :toast:

I think a poetry group would be very fun. It's a good chance to have others see your work and what good is poetry if nobody reads it?

A word, a seemingly benign thing, alone in its singularity and devoid of context, it could be the height of banality.

But many words, or even a select few, could heighten the consciousness and bring fullness to the spirit... A walk in a meadow of the sublime.

The warmth and sincerity of your words could be the spark that ignites the flames of ideas, a passion of words, a salve to the troubled heart and soul.
