Poll question: Regarding Email...
Is it okay to type "email" as one word? Or must we still include the hyphen and type it as "e-mail"?

How do you write it? Should the E be capitalized if it's "E-mail"?

5. LOL...
You make a good point... but I hardly think it would be appropriate for me to write to someone: "Please let me know if you have any other questions, just spam me at arwalden_du@xemaps.com, thanks."

2. It's email.
When email first came out, it was e-mail...because of the novelty of it. To differentiate electronic mail from regular snail mail.

But everyone surely knows what email means now. It's ok to use email.

4. Thanks, Terry. --- I remember...
... how odd it looked when I would see my grandmother write the word "today" as "to-day". And I recall when cooperate was a hyphenated word, "co-operate". (Frankly... I think that when it's written without the hyphen, it looks like it should be pronounced as COOPER-ate.)

3. The Spelling of Compound Words Usually Evolves
In some cases, they start out as two separate words. The next step is hypenation. The final step is a single unhyphenated word ("email").
