Pope Prophecy proven true...pretty wild stuff.
I had found this website shortly after John Paul II had died. I didn't really think much of it until Cardinal Ratzinger picked the name Pope Benedict XVI. I about shat my pants because this was the EXACT same name I remembered from the site which had a future prophecy talking about WWIII.

So I went there...and sure enough it talked about Pope Benedict XVI.

The site has some shocking prophecies about the future and I thought I'd post the link:

http://www.catholicplanet.com/articles/article41.htm

Now I'll understand some of you people are skeptical of this site. The webmaster very well could have updated the information about Pope Benedict XVI AFTER the name was released. So I went to the Internet Archives and typed in the URL....where I found the earliest website talking about Pope Benedict XVI. The information is clearly different than the updated link today (basically proving that the site has changed since its original posting).

This was the site in December of 2002...long before Pope John Paul II died.

http://web.archive.org/web/20021220...s/article41.htm

Now clearly there are some errors. For one this person said Pope Benedict XVI would be black. In fact, he was not. Secondly this person said Pope John Paul II would die around 2003. He did not.

But the rest is very telling. I guess in the end it could have been an unbelievably lucky guess, but it is food for thought.

1. According to the prophecy of St. Malachy
Isn't Ratzinger supposed to be the Pope that leads the Church over to Satan in prelude to the end of times?

4. No.
Ratzinger would be the Pope of Peace. The next Pope, Peter the Roman will lead the church through WWIII (a way between Arabs and Europe). Rome will be destroyed during the war, BUT the world will not end. Peter the Roman is killed and I'm only guessing they elect a new pope. That site I linked above states the next pope after Peter the Roman, will be a Protestant that has converted over to Catholicism after the two churches merge.

5. No, Ratzinger is "The glory of the olive"...
The next one is Peter the Roman, who will be last.

There is some speculation that they could be the same person because St Malachy didn't put a number next to Peter the Roman, but that is just an interpretation.

7. Peter the Roman will NOT be the last....
He was just the last pope mentioned. That does not mean the world is going to end though.

13. There's no way of knowing whether he'll be the last or not...
But if you take the prophecy by its literal meaning, Peter the Roman is indeed the last Pope. It does say "Finis."

I agree, this doesn't mean the world is going to end, just probably the world as we know it. ;)

3. DOH./ You think Ratzinger doesn't know thet propehcy too?
That's a no brainer. He picked the name that MADE the propechy come true.

In fact. I PROPHECIZE RIGHT NOW, that I will pick the number 3 when I ask myself to pick a number.

Now watch as this prophecy comes true.

"Pick a number" I say to myself.

"3" I reply.

Amazing! The prophecy came true!

Big Fuckin Deal!

11. When is a prophecy untrue?
If the new Pope were black and chose the name PiusXIII, wouldn't that be considered a hit, too?

If John Paul II had died around 2003 wouldn't that have reinforced the hit I just made up?

So this prophecy hits the mark except that it doesn't.

And as another has already said, the name could well have been chosen in light of the prophecy.

17. I'm not saying it's true...
Just food for thought. The mark it 'hit' is pretty big though. Picking the Holy Father's name, knowing very well it could be anything, is pretty spectacular.

18. don't buy it
THe thing about the Benedictine as Pope wasn't part of the original prophecy, it was added in later. Ratzinger isn't part of the Benedictine group (or whatever its called). Most people who follow that prophecy believed it the next pope would be some French guy (can't think of his name), ARch Bishop Tettamanziof Milan, or someone who was from Latin / South America

About JP II, there wasn't a total eclipse the day he was born, there was a partial one only viewable from parts of Australia and Antartica.

The Malachy Document wasn't "discovered" until the 1500's. Notice how everything before that is in great detail, but the predictions after it are very vague.

And I wouldn't be surprised if he picked his name just to go along with the Prophecy

21. I remember hearing about that prediction before Ratzinger was picked.
Some people here are speculating that Ratzinger picked that name just to make the prediction come true. I don't know about that but it sure is weird.
