Mom will be 80!!

In December my dear mother will be 80 years old. Everything I learned about how we should treat others I leaned from her. I could never repay her for all that she has given me but I would like to make this birthday special in some way.

I live a thousand miles away from her, but will attend the family reunion in August.

Any ideas? It was suggested I get GW to send her a birthday card but, I'm pretty sure, that would not please her. Still, it's a good idea to get a "card shower" going... maybe George McGovern would send a card, for example. Ideas? Links?

1. Yellow roses have a gorgeous scent.

A neat idea I've been wanting to try is to take a piece of posterboard
and crop and arrange pictures of family members on it,
completly covering the posterboard.
Kinko's will laminate it pretty cheap.
A nice tribute in her local newspaper would be nice.
My dad's going to be 80 in December, too. :)

Sounds like a good Lady. She should have a beautiful flower named after her.
