my show closes this weekend

it's been one of the worst productions i've been involved in and it's my first 'professional' acting gig. the casting is weak, the director has been awful, but i've been trying to stay positive and make it all a valuable life lesson. i realized that if i'm not having fun, the folks who paid 20 bucks to see the show are definitely not having fun and that's just not right.

it's hard not to feel like a piece of meat. ah the glory of acting.

i have to start writing my own stuff, so if i'm in a bad show, i only have myself to blame.

Unfortunately, it seems like theatres produce nothing but crap nowadays. Either they completely butcher a classic by putting some ridiculous spin on it (for example, the "new" Nutcracker I saw that featured George Washington as the lead character) or they simply put on crap original shows. I'm really disillusioned with my recent theatre experiences. I need to get back to the Shakespeare Theatre... :scared:

while i love the classics, why is it that the only war commentary folks can stomach these days is a greek revamp?

tonight sucked real bad. i forgot to check my emotional baggage at the door and my energy tonight was way off. i pulled it in, but it was pretty rough.
