I was flipping through the channels and MTV had a commericial for yet another album from Tupac Shakur.

I mean, it's understandable that there could be songs left over, hell even Led Zeppelin found about 10 songs previously unrecorded and put them out on their CODA album (some of which probably should have been left unrecorded). And I can even see a couple of the "Greatest Hits", "Live Concerts" and even a "Tribute" album

But this guy has ANOTHER album of previously unrecorded music coming out now 9 years after his death.

I swear, I think this guy is alive somewhere cranking out music left and right

10. something tells me you just don't like hip hop in general
but you don't have to be an asshole about it, especially when you make it clear that you don't know too much about it either with statements like that

but these two guys truly and fully sucked.

Asshole

on edit: On second thought, if "musicians" want to have a feud, then they can both reap the benefits of hollowpoints, spare me the bullshit.

difference of opinion is okay, but to go out of your way to say you're glad that someone is dead, someone that millions of people love and look up to, is crass and tasteless and i'd like to ask you to please refrain from it in the future.

and the reason i'm being so sensitive about this is because i'm tired of everyone attacking hip hop on here every time any thread with the slightest mention of it pops up. it's stupid and pointless and really brings out the nastiness in people.

hip hop is my livelihood and i take it real personally when anyone attacks it in such a vicious way. you should be ashamed.

and if you knew anything about hip hop, you wouldn't be calling either of those guys crap. lyrically they are among the greatest of all time, and it's hard to find a more passionate voice than pac's...but i guess it's ok to bash stuff if it makes you feel better about yourself

Not batting an eye when self-proclaimed 'ganstas', 'thugs' and 'bangers' and former crack dealers are shot to pieces while gloryfying such lifestyles and making the problem worse after moving to the ritzy suburbs of their respective cities? Talk about hypocritical. F that.

And no, this isn't about making me feel better about myself, that's a really worn out cliche on DU, you should try something original. Like these two idiots didn't.

16. I like HipHop, but never cared for Tupac OR Big.
To my ears, they're responsible for the "dumbing-down" of mainstream hiphop that's taken place in the last eight years or so.

if you're gonna blame anyone, blame dre

pac, and to a lesser extent biggie, were surprisingly progressive, in the context of their status as "mainstream" rappers

13. His mom and record company are making money off him.
This happened with Jeff Buckley too. As a way to not completely lose their investment, record companies keep churning out half ass crap from their dead artists. In the case of Jeff Buckley :loveya: his half ass crap is still pretty good. I'm not a fan of Tupac, so...

The person in charge of their estates ( I believe in both Jeff's and Tupac's cases, it's their moms) get the royalties. I am unsure if they could go "You know what, there's a reason my son didn't put that song on their album when they were alive" or "Uh, could you stop it?".

20. Actually they NEED to release the music in order to pay debts
His estate was sued for a woman (my friend was the litigator) who was paralyzed at a Tupac concert when Tupac decided to wave a gun at another gangster while onstage. Shots were fired in the venue and the woman was left paralyzed.
