Yes, the wonderful Bush tax cuts which he is always bragging about. I'm not poor, but I'm certainly not rich. I'm single and made $35,000 last year. I guess the "tax cuts" hit the single folks the hardest.

2. Because you don't make enough money!
Only the rich get out of owing taxes.
They can tuck away this and that and make it look like it all exempt and then pull make it look like they owe a small fortune.

But here is a little tip. Have a dozen kids, mortgage your house to the max and then you will have enough deductions to cover what you might have owed.
Of course you will be in debt up to your eyeballs but then you will fit the reupkes bill for success.

4. I just filed an extension and payed part of what I owe.
I had a bad year as an independent contractor and am basically screwed. The worst part was writing a big check to "The United States Treasury" (which is basically BushCo's petty cash drawer) and sending it to Dallas, Texas. That was a slap in the face.

6. looks like you are paying $3,754
and got nothing from the 2003 tax cut which Bush promoted like this:

"The tax relief is for everyone who pays income taxes -- and it will help our economy immediately: 92 million Americans will keep, this year, an average of almost $1,000 more of their own money. A family of four with an income of $40,000 would see their federal income taxes fall from $1,178 to $45 per year. (Applause.) Our plan will improve the bottom line for more than 23 million small businesses." Jan. 28, 2003

If you had two kids you would only be paying $471 on the same income. Of course, they would most likely add more than $3,000 to your living expenses too.
